Excitement is building for the grand opening of Star WarsGalaxy's Edge, the new park addition to Disneyland and Disney World. The area will showcase a never-before-seen piece of the Star Wars universe, the planet Batuu and the settlement known as the Black Spire. Now, Disney has announced a series of novels and comics to reveal more about the new world.

The official Star Wars site announced three novels that will be based on the new planet, and tie-in closer to the established Star Wars canon.

Author Delilah Dawson will write The Black Spire, a prequel to the Disney experience that focuses on a spy for Princess Leia exploring the titular community. Zoraida Córdova will pen A Crash Of Fate, about a pair of long separated childhood friends reunited on Batuu after one of them is chased back to the planet. Star Wars: Myths & Fables will be a collection of fairy tales and legends from across the Star Wars universe, and will be written by George Mann with illustrations by Grant Griffin.

Those novels join a previously-announced new Marvel miniseries, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which will be written by Ethan Sacks and feature art from Will Sliney. The series will center around the infamous antiques collector Dok-Ondar and how he came to the Black Spire. The miniseries is slated to begin Apr. 24.
