The Star Wars series was split into two different categories -- canon and legends. With this in mind, certain characters were also removed from the canon of the series. It should come as no surprise that some Sith Lords and apprentices were some of these characters. These Sith come from comics, books, and video games related to the series.

Some Sith mentioned lived centuries before the original trilogy, while others came to be known after the fall of the Empire. The lore that comes with these characters is interesting as well, explaining certain parts of the Sith history and their codes.

10 Darth Malak

Darth Malek was originally a Jedi named Alek during the Mandalorian Wars. Malek disobeyed the Jedi council by aiding in Republic scouting missions against the Mandalorians. After the war ended, Malek and his friend, Revan, went after surviving Mandalorians but came into contact with the Sith emperor.

Malek fell to the dark side, forming a powerful Sith empire. His old friend, Revan, lost his memory and helped take down the Sith. During a battle, Malek's space station was attacked and blown up, ending the Sith's life and destroying the empire he built up.

9 Skere Kaan

Skere Kaan was a Jedi who defected to the Sith Order during the New Sith Wars. He created the Brotherhood of Darkness and helped reorganize the Sith Empire. It is because of these tasks he got the nickname of 'The Dark One'. During Kaan's rule as the Dark Lord of the Sith, things were not the best.

Conflict against the Jedi saw many Sith dying and unrest occurring within the Brotherhood. By the end of his reign, Kaan had started to go mad. Kaan and his followers were destroyed after a thought bomb went off during a battle against the Jedi. A thought bomb releases the full force of the dark side, destroying any force-sensitive beings in its blast.

The Dark Apprentice first appears in The Force Unleashed II. The apprentice is a clone of Galen Marek, Darth Vader's original apprentice from the first game. Unlike the original Starkiller, this copy never leaves the Sith and is used as a tool for the Empire. The clone never fell to the memories of the original, becoming a new person.

It was during the clone's last mission a bit of trouble occurred. The Dark Apprentice was tasked with hunting down a rouge clone as the rebels started to attack Kamino. Before Darth Caedus became a Sith, he was named Jacen Solo. The Skywalker family ran into another problem, as the son of Han Solo and Leia turned to the dark side. Much like his grandfather and namesake, Jacen Solo was willing to do anything to protect the galaxy, ultimately turning him to the dark side.

When Caedus turned to the dark side, he killed Luke's wife Mara, tortured Luke's son Ben, and turning against friends and family. It would be a duel with his twin sister that would prove fatal. Darth Caedus was killed on a ship named after him, putting an end to his descent to the dark side.

6 Darth Nox

Nox had a goal to restore the power of a family known as the Kallig. Nox was first a slave to the Sith, starting from the lowest possible point. By luck he was chosen to be trained at an academy for the Sith. He quickly passed the trials.

Nox would rise to the rank of Sith Inquisitor. During his time as Inquisitor, he would develop a rivalry with another Sith named Darth Thanaton. Thanaton was a member of the Dark Council, a position Nox wanted. The two would duel, with Nox being the winner. Because of this, Nox gained a seat in the Dark Council.

5 Kopecz

Kopecz was one of the first members of Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness. Kopecz was also a former Jedi who turned to the dark side during the New Sith Wars. This proved to not matter, as he was attacked by the Jedi. Kopecz made a deal with a Jedi -- Kopecz would tell Kaan's plan if the Jedi agreed to a duel. The Jedi did, and the two fought against each other. Kopecz was already injured, being defeated by the Jedi.

4 Darth Bane

Darth Bane was also a member of Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness, becoming the only survivor of the battle against the Jedi. This also meant that Bane was the last remaining Sith in the galaxy. He saw that infighting weakens the group, coming up with a plan to combat this.

Darth Bane came up with the Rule of Two -- only a Sith master and a Sith apprentice. A plan was hatched to defeat the Jedi. Darth Bane ended up dying, with the Jedi thinking the Sith were destroyed for good. Bane's plan to destroy the Jedi finally happened, with Darth Sidious executing Order 66.
