Star Wars: Return of the Jedi took Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and their crew of Rebels to the forest moon of Endor to destroy the second Death Star's shield generator. However, after getting attacked by the Empire, Leia was separated from the others, leaving Han and Luke to lead a search for the missing princess. The group was reunited in an Ewok village, but they found that Leia was no longer wearing her Rebel garb -- instead, she was donning a new dress.

Leia's wardrobe change was never addressed in the film, and fans were left to wonder how the princess found a dress in her size in a village populated by little bear creatures. Fortunately, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny finally solves the mystery by revealing what happened right after Leia first met Wicket.

In Return of the Jedi, Leia meets Wicket the Ewok, who helped save her from a few Scout Troopers. The duo then heads off into the forest,  only to be seen them after Luke and Han were taken to the Ewok village. However, the Forces of Destiny episode "Ewok Escape" reveals that, after they met, Wicket and Leia had another encounter with some Stormtroopers.

In the episode, Wicket leads Leia in the forest, where they eventually find that two of the Ewok's friends had been taken prisoner. The little beast then devises a plan to save them by trapping the troopers, and, thankfully, Leia is there to help him. Together, they rescue the other two Ewoks, and it's only after this that the group heads back to the village.

After arriving at the village, the three Ewoks give Leia a dress as a gift. It's meant to serve as a token of appreciation for her help in saving the two Ewoks. She tries the dress on and it fits perfectly, most likely because it was made specifically for her.

So, in this moment, the mystery is finally solved. Before, fans simply didn't know why Leia simply switched outfits, but now they understand that the dress was a gift for her heroics. While it may not the biggest mystery in the Star Wars saga, this explanation shows just how much of a hero the Princess of Alderaan really was.
