Being a Force user in the Star Wars universe often or not means you are gifted or cursed in the eyes of the general public on a given world. Whether one is grown to be an astute Jedi Knight, a devious Sith Lord or anything caught in between, the user has the inherent potential to accomplish great things that many citizens cannot. Moving objects with your mind and sensing the presence of others is one thing, but the feats of strength and willpower accomplished by the Galaxy's finest is another point entirely. To paraphrase a famous Sith Lord, the devastation caused by the Sith of today would be considered as playthings by the ancestors of centuries past, in the days of The Old Republic.

While this might be true for the majority of the Jedi Order, and certain Sith Lords by the time of the films, the same cannot be said for certain individuals across all eras. This list, in no particular order, will number the greatest feats of strength by the many characters whom can wield the Force efficiently in the Legends continuity only. Be forewarned, that these feats go beyond the extreme. After all, same goes for the Light Side, The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. So equip a flashy, colorful Lightsaber if you must. But the true weapon that makes a Force wielder a threat to be reckoned with does not come from the trinkets of such. The Force is now truly unleashed.

20 SWINGING IN THE RAIN

Darth Bane was considered by many at the time of the Old Republic to be the legendary Sitha'ri, the Dark Side variant of the chosen one for the Sith. Darth Bane's potential, coupled with his extensive training, made him an outlier of sorts in the order. Where one had to be dedicated to either Force abilities, or Lightsaber combat, Bane was skilled at both.

One way for him to prove himself of his defensive mastery with his curved-hilt Lightsaber, was with a simple rainstorm. He used his Lightsaber to catch every drop of rain that came down upon him, and by the time the maelstrom was over, he was completely dry.

19 LUKE DECIMATES AN ARMY

Luke's journey started out with him as a mortal being, but he is no longer considered as such by the time of his ascension to knighthood. Where Luke struggled to pull his father's Lightsaber out of the snow on Hoth, by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong war (years after the fall of the Empire), Luke was able to wipe out entire armies with a single Force Push.

Luke inherited the connection his father had to the Force, and were it not his cybernetics holding him back, Darth Vader would've accomplished more than this. It's made all the more impressive however, since the Vong are immune to Lightsaber penetration, and most Force-based attacks.

18 HORCRUXES

Every Sith Lord's dream is to defeat the Jedi but ultimately, their final enemy to eliminate is the end itself. Only Jedi, by George Lucas' words, are allowed to live on as spirits after their demise. Sith lack the sense of purity and outwardly love to become spirits, since they focus inwards. However, there are some loopholes found by certain individuals.

Emperor Palpatine discovered a way to live on forever from the notes Darth Plagueis' journals. Palpatine then learned transfer his spirit into clones of himself. This indicates the amount of sheer strength for Sidious to resist the will of the Force itself. He himself claimed that his demise on board the 2nd Death Star was not the first time he was mortally wounded.

17 SITH LORD TOO ANGRY TO PERISH

Many centuries ago, in the era of the Old Republic, there was a Jedi turned Sith lord by the name of Darth Sion. He was a warrior that was struck down by multiple Jedi. He found himself getting back up minutes later, and finished off his attackers. This happened again and again until he finally got the picture.

Darth Sion is a literal zombie Sith lord, a walking corpse. Using his constant agonizing pain, he turns it into anger and thus making it into hatred, making him immortal. However, if Sion experiences anything joyful or happy, he will start to permanently fade. You literally have to convince him to perish.

16 THE SHADOW OF DARTH NIHLUS

Darth Nihlus is one of the Sith triumvirate in Knights of The Old Republic II, the other two being Darth Kreia and Darth Sion, as previously mentioned. Darth Nihlus is known for having the title"the lord of hunger", because he devours the essence of the Force. However, he's constantly racing against the clock for his own demise, since he needs to keep devouring life force energy to keep himself alive.

At one point he devoured the life essence of an entire world, all simply to buy himself more time. Due to the power of the Dark Side, his body could not take it. He is literally just walking armor and a mask, and all he has left now is his soul.

15 DARTH VITIATE ERADICATES THE FORCE

Darth Vitiate was a powerful Sith Lord among other beings in his era. However, Vitiate only feared the end itself. Everyone is afraid of passing away, but Vitiate takes it beyond measure. So much so to the point that he gathered the entire Dark Council on the planet Nathema, to participate in a ritual.

The excruciating process did not just stop with the Sith lord's, but the ritual effected every living thing on the planet. It was over 10 days later, and only one being was left alive on that world. The ultimate outcome was that Darth Vitiate was now ageless, the other result being that the presence of the Force was gone on that world too.

14 WHO NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION NOW?

Luke Skywalker established a Jedi Order much more powerful in spirit and ethics than the previous, dogmatic one, one where Jedi can be married and have emotions, and in many ways, making them a more proactive presence in the galaxy. One such Jedi was Kyle Katarn, a former agent of the Empire turned Jedi council master.

Kyle was extremely gifted in the Force, and he translated it into combat, they didn't call him the Jedi battlemaster for nothing. At one point, however, Kyle had suffered a stabbing wound in his chest/abdominal area. Instead of perishing instantly, Kyle applied the Force to sustain him for several hours without the need of medical attention. A true warrior to the cause.

13 LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT ABELOTH

A drawing of Abeloth shows her with sharp teeth, dark eyes and long, silvery hair

Abeloth was a surrogate, mortal mother to a family of god-like Force sensitive beings, on a mysterious monlith planet that acted as a conduit for the Force itself. However, her aging left her family distraught. To prevent her family from falling apart, she took the Star Wars variant of the forbidden fruit and the result made her into a monster.

At the time of Luke Skywalker's old age, she nearly caused an apocalyptic event. She can possess multiple beings across the galaxy at once. She can catch Lightsabers, Blaster bolts and lightning in her tentacles. She can regenerate tissue in seconds, and stand toe-to-toe against Luke Skywalker, who stated she was 12 times more powerful than him.

12 CATCHING A LIGHTSABER IN HAND

Satele Shan was the great granddaughter of the famous Bastilla Shan, in the Old Republic games. Bastilla can use the Force in ways to change the course of a battle, and while Satele does inherit this ability, there is another feat that she is most famous for. During the battle of Alderaan, she fought Darth Malgus and pushed him through a mountain side.

Most importantly, however, is that when she was disarmed, she caught the blade of Darth Malgus' Lightsaber with her own bare hand, using the Force to repel its energy. It's no surprise that she would later become the grand master of the Jedi Order.

11 EVERYTHING DARTH MAUL

Darth Maul's defeat by Obi-Wan Kenobi should be rage-fueling enough, and being severed in two would end anyone. However, Darth Maul survived against what seems like insurmountable odds. At some point upon hitting ground zero after his fall, he was transported by a garbage ship to a junk planet, where he would then use all the bits of machinery to give him spider legs and perhaps a little life-support.

This not only showcases his Mechu-Deru ability (the power to sense the structures of machinery), but it also demonstrates his will to survive. One person stated that he outright refused to pass away, a statement that appears to be easier said than done.

10 SIZE MATTERS NOT

Master Yoda is said to be the most powerful Jedi of his time, and the only Force user on his level was that of Palpatine. Yoda proves this fact, in the Clone Wars 2003 micro-series cartoon, where he lifted a legions' worth of Droids into the air and in the path of vulture Droids swooping by.

He also demonstrated his telekinetic prowess, by pushing two Droid transport tanks the size of buildings back onto the loading ramp of a larger Separatist ship, not to mention all the times he blasted enemies with a single palm of his hand. The result of this power is due to the fact that he has 800 years worth of practice and training put into it.

9 CHOOSING TO GET UP AGAIN

Darth Krayt is another example of  power, wielded correctly. Krayt was born 47 years before A New Hope, and officially passes away 138 years afterwards. He was dormant for the most part of the films because he was training in a secret temple of the Sith, after he abandoned the Jedi ways after Order 66.

Years after the Yuuzhan Vong War, and helping Luke to take down Abeloth, he established a Sith cult of his own. He was taken out by Cade Skywalker (Luke's descendant) by being thrown into a sun by a ship on autopilot. After exploring the netherworld of the Force, which amplified his power, he simply decided to will himself back to life like it was nothing.

8 BRINGING DOWN A STAR DESTROYER

Starkiller is a powerhouse, his potential eclipsing that of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. He even became Palpatine's new apprentice in The Force Unleashed game's alternate ending. However, he was trained to be like a hand grenade -- all flash and no substance, and he's not concentrated like Vader or Luke.

Despite this, Starkiller was able to redirect a falling Star Destroyer out of the sky. He may not have forced it to come down on his own, but he was able to shift it into a different direction. Had Starkiller been trained to be an actual successor to Vader, he would have been able to do more than that.

7 LUKE WARPS A BLACK HOLE

Luke, as stated many times in this list, is beyond anything a standard Force user can do. Cutting right to the chase, Luke actually warped a black hole to his will with telekinesis, in the void of space. Black holes are the ultimate seal of fate for any space traveler, in reality or in science fiction.

They are gravitational forces so powerful that matter and even light itself cannot escape it. It literally turns anything that enters it into spaghetti, crushing every bit of it into the tiniest forms of matter. The Force, channeled through Luke's mind, renders it completely useless.

6 FORCE STORM TAKEN TO THE MAX

In the comic series known as Dark Empire, the very first issue showcases Luke's then growing power in the Force by having him topple an AT-AT Walker with ease. Palpatine then demonstrates his already reached mastery, by creating a Hyperspace Wormhole and sending a Force Storm through it, which is an advanced version of Force Lightning.

This essentially has the capacity to destroy entire starships and planetary capital cities, to which it did to various degrees in that issue. It also transported Luke directly to Palpatine, hence the wormhole. The only trade-off is that it put a massive strain of Palpatine's body, thus needing him to transfer his spirit once again into another clone.

5 DARTH VADER SURVIVES BEING BURIED ALIVE

Darth Vader can survive immediate proximity to a thermal detonator, as shown in the comic Darth Vader and The Lost Command. However, at the end of it, he's confronted by the spirit of his wife, and then decides to end it all by sending an entire city to crumble on top of him, destroying his life support suit.

Upon waking up in an Imperial medical center, he realizes he's still alive. Sidious asked how he lived being buried alive for days, and Vader responded that the Dark Side gave him all that he needed. Vader can survive for several hours without his helmet, however, if he thinks of Padme or any joyful thought, he would suffocate.

4 VITIATE AT IT AGAIN

Darth Vitiate, upon gaining a sort of immortality, would later receive a crippling defeat by the hero of tython, the Jedi Knight character from The Old Republic MMO. As stated in the Darth Plagueis novel, Vitiate eventually did pass away, but what it did not mention is how he transcended the physical plane of existence, living on as a Force Spirit, inhabiting other bodies.

Where Palpatine could not love anything beyond himself, and Sion's sheer willpower, Vitiate managed to overcome the limit that all Force Sensitive beings adhere to, in regards to becoming an eternal entity. The only way he truly passed away, was when he was ultimately destroyed in a clash of the galaxy's most powerful beings at that time.

3 LUKE BECOMES ABSOLUTE ONE WITH THE FORCE

Luke Skywalker, at this point, is most prominently featured on this list due to his immense power and awesome command of the Force, achieving what his father could not, and placing himself on the tier of the legendary category amongst all of the era's across Star Wars.

One of his most greatest achievements was the ability to achieve total, and complete oneness with the living and Cosmic Force. This enables him to enter a God-like state, but often leaves the user either strained or possibly gone for good. To be clear, Luke basically becomes the Force itself, rather than acting as it flows through him. Very few, if not only he, can achieve this.

2 OBI-WAN'S DEFENSIVE MASTERY

Everyone loves Obi-Wan, but he wasn't always well-liked, due to his low power in the Force. The Jedi Council almost refused him to become a Jedi because nobody wanted to train him, except Qui-Gon, of course. After his passing though, Obi-Wan learned a valuable lesson to practice his dueling skills for just such an event with a Sith Lord again.

He practiced the defensive Lightsaber form known as Soresu, which is said to make a Jedi infallible if they trained hard enough. By the time of The Clone Wars and Revenge of The Sith, Obi-Wan's defensive mastery is unsurpassed, especially considering his low-potential in the Force. Obi-Wan can block 20 strikes-per-second from General Grevious himself on several occasions.

1 BECOMING A FORCE SPIRIT

Stated by many writers and George Lucas himself, becoming a Force Spirit is actually the most powerful ability. The end works in a mysterious way in the Star Wars universe. When somebody passes away, they lose their consciousness and individuality to become part of the Force itself.

However, a Jedi, such as Qui-Gon, can achieve true immortality through the exultation of self, not the centering of it. Something the Sith ultimately never attain. Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to achieve this since ancient times, due to him being a maverick of the Jedi before the prequels. The afterlife is pretty empty in Star Wars, and even Yoda himself still teaches in the netherworld of the Force for newcomers to arrive there.
