When Harrison Ford returned to the silver screen as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it was a big deal to fans. The characters from the original trilogy had been absent from most onscreen media since the original films, and such a major reintroduction would have gone through many drafts to get the moment just right.

Artist Christian Alzmann revealed concept art of an early idea for what Han's reintroduction could have been. The art shows Han sitting at a bar table with a drink and blaster, with the bodies of two aliens beside him. This reintroduction was likely intended as an homage to the infamous Greedo bar scene from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which started the "Who shot first?" fandom running gag.

"Early concept for how we might have met Han in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Out-Drinking everyone at a cantina," Alzmann stated in his post, alluding to the aliens intended to be drunk, not shot dead.

The comments on Alzmann's post show that fans appear open to this alternative, one that show's Han's fan-favorite rugged charm more explicitly than what was displayed on screen for the final film.
