Billy Dee Williams, when discussing his role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, reassured fans that he's still in touch with Lando Calrissian.
Williams entered the panel with a rush of emotion, responding to his fans applauding by saying, "You know, I'm a very lucky person... I didn't expect to be in this little adventure. I got lucky and I ended up working with somebody that I have a tremendous regard for: J.J. Abrams. I love this man. He's a beautiful young man. He's extraordinary. I've been doing this for a long time -- I think 60 years I've been doing this, and I've been fortunate enough to work with some pretty extraordinary people in my lifetime... I regard this as a real highlight."
When panel Stephen Colbert asked Williams how he got back in character to play his iconic hero Lando (who appeared last in Solo, played by Donald Glover), Williams said, "Lando never left me. He's still there! He's still hanging in there."
Fans will see Lando return once more in Star Wars: Episode IX and discover just how much he's changed in the years since Return of the Jedi.
