This week saw the release of the second trailer for Captain Marvel, but if recent rumors are to be believed, that's only the tip of the iceberg. Ever-shifting speculation about the first Avengers 4 trailer has enthralled fans for weeks, and now, the latest rumors would have us believe the trailer will finally arrive on Friday. What's more, we might even get a Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer very soon as well.
to those wondering, December is ALWAYS a huge month for new trailers. If you're a Disney fan, you can look forward to the first footage from #Frozen2 and @starwars episode 9 this month. Would be shocked if both aren't revealed by December 25th. pic.twitter.com/mylWXs6vyq— Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) December 5, 2018
"To those wondering, December is ALWAYS a huge month for new trailers," Weintraub wrote. "If you're a Disney fan, you can look forward to the first footage from #Frozen2 and @starwars episode 9 this month. Would be shocked if both aren't revealed by December 25th." Of course, this isn't exactly a confirmation, but it does come from a reliable source.
What's more, that we are now in December means the final installment of Disney's current Star Wars trilogy is officially a year away. For comparison's sake, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released at the end of the month of November 2014, a little more than a year before the movie's release on Dec. 18, 2015.
If Disney is following a similar plan to market Episode IX, then it would appear as if we could truly get the first trailer for the film before the holidays. Similarly, Frozen 2 has a release date of Nov. 27, 2019, which puts the animated sequel already less than a year away. If Disney is looking to hype its massive year ahead, then now is definitely the time to start.
Helmed by returning director Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, Frozen 2 stars Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Josh Gad. The film is scheduled for release on November 27, 2019. As for Star Wars: Episode IX, the film will be directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, and stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is scheduled to open on Dec. 20, 2019.
