Longtime Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels officially completed filming his role as C-3PO for Episode IX last week, but he couldn't help himself from teasing fans hungry for news about the J.J Abrams-directed sequel.
Considering the intense security Disney employs to keep the film's details under wraps, Daniels released a serious of cryptic tweets. One hinted that something amazing was coming, likely alluding to the upcoming movie, which will conclude the story that began with Star Wars: A New Hope in 1978.
He followed it with another tweet that teases that the incoming news may not be a new trailer or the movie's official title, but something else entirely.
Everyone- except one - is looking the wrong way ... But it's getting closer... Amazing... Doesn't seem to be the right shape for a movie title or trailer... Can't see an X or anything... Oh... The signal's faded... I'm sure it'll return... What can it be... Stay tuned... I will.— Anthony Daniels (@ADaniels3PO) February 6, 2019
I have to rest, before I fall apart... But wait... Wait... I'm receiving a message from... T...R...A...V............. Oh... signal fading....... Come back.... the One who got it?— Anthony Daniels (@ADaniels3PO) February 6, 2019
He apparently received a partial spelling of "T-R-A-V" before he "lost the signal" completely, leaving fans hoping for any new spoilers in the same spot as they were before.
Perhaps he's taken a page from Mark Hamill's book, as the Luke Skywalker once handled a fan demanding the Episode IX title in a hilarious manner that even managed to reference an Ariana Grande song.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is scheduled to open on Dec. 20.
