With principal photography expected to wrap this month and still no official first look released by LucasFilm, fans have been speculating what the final title for Star Wars: Episode IX will be.
In a story post through his Instagram account, actor Dom Monaghan confirmed that the only person that knows the actual title to the eagerly anticipated sequel is director and co-writer J.J. Abrams.
Last week, reports claimed to have leaked the actual Episode IX title after allegedly data-mining the official Star Wars website though there has yet to be any confirmation from LucasFilm.
It is still unknown what role Monaghan himself will play in the film, a trailer release for the film has been rumored for months, presumably unveiling the final title and several of the new cast members roles.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is scheduled to open on December 20.
