The Rebel Alliance has a new mission this Christmas. No, it hasn't got anything to do with top secret plans for a new Imperial weapons system – its all about getting toys to sick children and it is the focus of this new Duracell advert to help raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

The whole advert has a distinct "Rogue One" theme, and shows a kid Jyn Erso joining up with the Rebellion, which consists of a gang of other sick children, to deliver a Duracell-powered R2-D2 to a kid Mon Mothma.

On the way, the kid crew fend off all manner of Imperial forces, including the new Shoretoopers.

But aside from its heart-warming call to action, the prominence the advert gives to R2-D2, not to mention the growing range of R2-merchandise, seems to suggest we will be seeing the droid on screen in "Rogue One."

Could it be that that the previously revealed "Rogue One" droid C2-B5 that looked suspiciously like a goth R2-D2 is actually an undercover designation for everyone's favourite blue and white astromech unit?
