A new report states the delayed Star Wars Disney+ series focusing on the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi would have featured the titular character fighting a villain from the franchise's Expanded Universe.

The Illuminerdi reports that Legends character A’Sharad Hett was slated to be the central villain for the Disney+ series. Hett is a character from the original Expanded Universe -- now dubbed "Legends" following Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm -- who is a former Jedi and is a member of the Tusken Raiders.

The son of a former Jedi who was assassinated while hiding out with the Tusken Raiders, Hett became a Jedi and later a general during the Clone Wars. He is one of the few surviving Jedi of Order 66 and returned to Tatooine to become a warlord for the Tusken Raiders.

Hett started a campaign to drive out all non-native Tatooine people from the land, eventually finding himself at Owen Lars' homestead, home to young Luke Skywalker and protected by Obi-Wan. Kenobi fought Hett, with Kenobi emerging victorious and Hett leaving the planet. Hett later dedicated himself to the Sith, turning himself into Darth Krayt.

Hett's inclusion in an Obi-Wan series would not have been the first time a Legends character came to the main continuity. Grand Admiral Thrawn from the old EU was brought to the new canon with his inclusion in Star Wars: Rebels.

Directed by Deborah Chow and starring Ewan McGregor, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is currently in development for Disney+.
