Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best has detailed how his new Disney+ show, Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, ties itself to Star Wars’ past as it honors the Force.

During an interview with Jamie Stangroom, Best shared how Jedi Temple Challenge will re-introduce the idea that all people have a level of connection to the Force.

According to Best, contestants on the show can develop and strengthen this connection to the Force by completing the trials set within the titular Jedi Temple. He pointed to previous challenges faced by Star Wars characters, including the training that Luke Skywalker received under the tutelage of Jedi Master Yoda in the swamps of Dagobah. Best shared how "this is where it was done first. It was in this temple. You got to get good here. I dig that."

He added how the show and its premise is wonderful for younger fans of Star Wars, noting how there is now an active "path to this thing. Now there are actual steps you can take to being a strong Jedi. It gives you belief and faith." It’s worth noting that Best will not be reprising his role as Jar Jar for Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. Instead, he will be portraying a Jedi Master, acting as a mentor to the show’s contestants.

The series is developed by Lucasfilm’s Scott Bromley and Steve Blank, executive produced by Capoferri, Christine Beebe, Dean Houser, David Chamberlin and Mike Antinoro and produced by Lucasfilm and Endeavor Content’s non-scripted group.

Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge arrives on Disney+ later this year.
