The Clone Wars' final season has drawn experience from another Star Wars project Dave Filoni also worked on.

Speaking with SW Holocron, actor Sam Witwer, who voices Maul, discussed how Filoni's experience directing The Mandalorian helped shape the direction of The Clone Wars' final episodes.

"Funny enough, Dave Filoni’s live action experience definitely played into this final arc, because this final arc is more of a film read in terms of the vocal stuff that I was doing," Witwer said. "I was like, ‘This is how I would do it if I were shooting it and Ray Park was on the set. This is how I would go about it."

Filoni directed the pilot episode of The Mandalorian, as well as its fifth episode, "The Gunslinger," where he also took on writing duties. Given that fans have noticed the final arc of The Clone Wars has a cinematic quality to it, as well as an abundance of Mandalorian characters in said arc, it's clear Filoni's newly acquired live-action chops have enhanced his animation work.
