One of Ahsoka's episodes has been completed, and its quality presumably left showrunner Dave Filoni starstruck. At a Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo panel, Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson revealed what she knew about the show's current status, joking to the crowd that "I will probably get in trouble for saying this." Dawson then described Filoni's reaction after watching a fully-edited episode, recalling how "he walked up, him and Carrie Beck, like both like glossy-eyed, and he said to me that it was "a religious experience."" She did not go into any further details regarding whether this was an early episode of Ahsoka, or one closer to its finale.RELATED: The Mandalorian's Katee Sackhoff Dodges Question About Ahsoka Series Appearance

Details about Ahsoka's story remain under wrap, though its Star Wars Celebration trailer revealed new details about who else is appearing on the show. In addition to a confirmed live-action Sabine Wren, the Ahsoka trailer provided a glimpse of fellow Star Wars Rebels hero Hera Syndulla and astromech droid Chopper as well as a mural of Rebels' cast seen in the cartoon's series finale. Hayden Christensen is set to return as Anakin Skywalker following his appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but how he ties into the story is similarly unclear. The remaining confirmed cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno. For now, only Sakhno's character has been named, specifically as Astrid, a "formidable mercenary" Ahsoka encounters on her travels.

Created by Filoni, Ahsoka Tano first appeared in the 2008 theatrical Star Wars: The Clone Wars film before starring in its subsequent animated series a few months later. Quickly introduced as the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka's retconned addition to Star Wars lore was met poorly at first, but she has since gone on to become one of the franchise's most iconic characters. Following The Clone Wars' cancelation, an older Ahsoka reappeared on Rebels -- once again voiced by Ashley Eckstein -- with its finale's closing moments confirming that she survived the Original Trilogy timeline. Ahsoka then made the jump to live-action in The Mandalorian Season 2, with Dawson becoming the first actor to play her apart from Eckstein. The character recently made a cameo in The Book of Boba Fett, confirming that Ahsoka met her Master's son, Luke Skywalker, sometime after Rebels.

Ahsoka's The Mandalorian episode revealed that she is looking for Rebels villain Grand Admiral Thrawn, implying that Ahsoka will tie up the cartoon's remaining plot threads. In addition to her live-action show, Eckstein will voice Ahsoka again for multiple episodes of Disney+'s upcoming anthology series Tales of the Jedi.

Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
