Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was Respawn's 2019 hit third-person action/adventure video game. The events of Fallen Order are part of Star Wars canon and take place after the events of Revenge of the Sith and Darth Sidious' Order 66, which eradicated the Jedi Order. Players control Cal Kestis, a former padawan now hiding as a scraper on a poor planet in the middle rim. Cal finds himself on a mysterious mission retracing the steps of Eno Cordova to find a Holocron containing the names of force-wielding younglings hidden throughout the galaxy.

Cal battles Imperial Inquisitors, dangerous flora, and Dathomirian bats with his trusted companion BD-1 and a ship full of colorful characters. Captain Greez Dritus, Cere Junda, and Nightsister Merrin keep the Mantis warm while Cal is gallivanting with BD-1. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - Dark Temple sets up the events of the hit 2019 video game. Years before Cere and Greez recruit Cal to chase the Holocron, Cordova was training Cere in the ways of the force. The prequel comic is split between events years before Fallen Order and the present day.

The Second Sister's Jedi witch hunt has taken her to Fylar, an independent nation on the planet Ontotho. Trilla's looking for the site of an ancient temple built by the Zeffo. Years ago, Cere and Cordova also found themselves in Fylar, where the Fylaris are waging war with the Ontothon government over a mysterious temple.

Cere quickly takes the side of the Fylari, but Cordova hesitates taking sides and brokers a ceasefire so he and Cere can explore the temple and see what's going on. While they're exploring the temple they're attacked by mysterious beings called "guardians." It's later revealed in Fallen Order the guardians are an early type of droid built to protect the Zeffo's secrets.

While exploring the Zeffo temple, Second Sister finds the remains of the Fylari/Ontothon conflict, which include a datapad that belonged to Cardova. "He may not know exactly what he had discovered, but I do," the Second Sister says, "Head for the planet Bogano at once. Cere Junda and Cal Kestis cannot hide from me forever."

The Second Sister was investigating the Zeffo ruins in Fylar sometime after she first discovered Cal on Bracca. She was hunting other Jedi fugitives while Cal and Cere were chasing down clues left by Cordova. Dark Temple's short Inquisitor story arc sets up a pivotal confrontation between Trilla and Cal inside the vault on Bogano before their final showdown inside the Inquisitorius, under Darth Vader's watchful gaze.

Cordova and Cere first investigated the ruins out of curiosity and it turned into an obsession for Cordova. After they left Ontotho, he dedicated the rest of his life to what he later finds out is the Zeffo. He spends years in archives and exploring planets like Bogano, Zeffo, and Dathomir to discover who they were, what they did, and why they wanted to protect their crypts and temples with traps, elaborate puzzles, and giant, antique robot warriors. Cordova became so enthralled with the Zeffo he trusted the fate of the galaxy's younglings in the hands of their ancient technology. He believed their defenses would be enough to keep the Empire away from the Holocron if Cere and BD failed themselves.

Cere's role as a mediator and peace advocate in the Fylari/Ontothon conflict granted her the rank of Jedi Knight. Cere also has an affinity to communicate with the force-sensitive Fylari children. This unique ability Cere possesses is exactly why Cordova left the Holocron in the hands of Cere, because she would have an advanced ability to train the list of younglings contained within the Holocron. Trilla was Cere's padawan before the Empire captured her and turned her to the Dark Side. She knew about Cere's proclivity to communicate with younglings as well, a clue she uses to discover Cardova's plans and stay hot on the Mantis's trail.
