WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: Visions Episode 3, “The Twins” streaming now on Disney+.

Being Sith in Star Wars is all about gaining as much power as possible in order to subdue everyone and everything that could pose a threat. The Sith have a long history of powerful beings. Darth Vitiate is arguably the most powerful in Legends, while Darth Sidious is the most powerful in Disney’s canon. However, Star Wars: Visions just introduced two new Sith that might be more powerful than anything Star Wars fans have seen.

Made by Studio Trigger, Episode 3 of the new series is titled “The Twins” and tells the dark side equivalent of a Luke and Leia story. Much like the Death Star, Darth Am and Darth Karre build a Gemini-class Star Destroyer with a hypercanon that has the power to destroy planets. Using the weapon to inspire fear, the twins are ready to subjugate the galaxy as the short film begins.

Star Wars: Visions - The Twins

A flashback montage provides context for their characters and explains their motivation to rule. It shows what looks like Sith Eternal cultists creating the twins using the dark side of the Force and imbuing them with the power of a large kyber crystal. Those dark side cultists have always been obsessed with the idea of seeing a Sith rule the galaxy, so it appears that in this dimension, they created the twins with that purpose. Essentially, the two of them are fulfilling their destiny as they prepare to use their massive weapon to destroy a planet.

Knowing the power that they hold in the Force, the two young Sith have eagerly embraced the idea of conquering the galaxy and bringing order to it by placing it under their Sith rule. However, just before the grand moment, something happens. Darth Karre steals the Kyber crystal that powers the hypercannon, because he has foreseen his sister death if he does not act. Nevertheless, Darth Am is enraged, and the two of them proceed to fight, displaying powers that outclass any Skywalker.

Darth Am is able to block laser canon blasts from Karre’s X-Wing fighter, and she is also able to hold it in place while ripping Karrre and the Kyber crystal out of the fighter mid-flight. From there, the two of them split the crystal in half with the Force and each get a part. Am puts her piece into her dark side armor. Unlike Vader’s suit, the armor enhances her abilities in the Force, and with the extra kyber power, she is nearly unstoppable. Her suit produces more lightsabers, and she wields them with ease. At the same time, Karre puts his piece in a single lightsaber, because he has taken off his Sith armor, and proceeds to fight his sister.

Directly using a kyber crystal for power outside of a lightsaber is not something that Star Wars fans have seen before, and while this is an alternate dimension, Am’s power is unmatched. The power of the dark side and the kyber is literally flowing through her. The only way that Karre eventually gets the advantage is by combing the power of his lightsaber and his ship’s hyperdrive to destroy Am’s kyber crystal, which saves his twin from the immense power that was overloading her armor. So, while Am’s power might be unmatched in Star Wars, it was simply too much for her to physically handle.

Hailing from Studio Trigger, Episode 2 of Star Wars: Visions is available to steam now on Disney+.
