Star Wars: Dark Legends will take Star Wars fans to the Dark Side. The book sees writer George Mann and artist Grant Griffin combine talents -- having previously worked on Star Wars: Myths and Fables -- to shed light on some of the most horrifying aliens, planets and people that populate the Star Wars universe.

Griffin debuted three exclusive images from the upcoming book on the official Star Wars website. The were taken from the stories "Blood Moon," "Master and Servant" and "Predecessor," respectively.

With regard to "Blood Moon," featuring a member of the wolflike Shistavanen race, Griffin explained that the image was inspired by special effects wizard Rick Baker, who provided the werewolf mask that inspired the Shistavanen. "Master and Servant" takes place on the Sith homeworld Exegol, showcasing a Sith Lord with a whiplike lightsaber and his misshapen servant standing in front of the massive throne. According to Griffin, the image was inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

The last image, "Predecessor," features none other than Darth Vader himself. The Dark Lord of the Sith is shown towering over a pair of Imperial officers, with their faces reflected in the lenses of his helmet.

Star Wars: Dark Legends goes on sale July 28. The book is currently available to pre-order.
