In the Star Wars universe, the Jedi, the Sith and Bounty Hunters have their own respective reasons for why they might choose to kill their adversaries -- and Qi'ra of Crimson Dawn claims to know the difference between them in the upcoming second issue of Star Wars: Crimson Reign.
Written by Charles Soule and penciled by Steven Cummings, Star Wars: Crimson Reign #2 is set to hit comic shops on Wednesday, Feb. 2. In official preview pages provided by Marvel Comics, Qi'ra -- who fans were first introduced to in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story -- says there are three basic reasons why people kill: faith, hope and joy.
According to Qi'ra, Jedi kill for their faith. "Some people kill in the service of a greater power -- your soldiers, your idealists, your fanatics," she says. The crime boss' explanation is accompanied by an image of an unnamed Jedi.
The legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett makes a cameo appearance as Qi'ra explains people like him, who kill out of hope. "Some people do it because they believe their life will be somehow improved by the death of another," she says. "Most who kill for money fit here, as do the avengers, revengers, and power-seekers. Finally, there are those who kill for joy, like the infamous Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. "There are those," she explains, "who simply... like it."

Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Marvel's Crimson Reign is a five-part limited series that centers on Qi'ra, who took over as the leader of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate following the death of Maul. Qi'ra plans to plunge the galaxy far, far away into chaos, thus destabilizing the Galactic Empire. This is part of a bid to ultimately kill Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.
