Although the trailer begins ominously, making us all wonder in what manner The Clone Wars is returning, it soon becomes clear that this is an entire new adventure, with the beloved cast from the original series. Your favorite Clone Troopers are there (Rex!), Obi-Wan and Anakin are walking side-by-side and, gasp, that's the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano.

The announcement came during the 10th Anniversary of The Clone Wars panel that was being held today at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The official Star Wars website then updated to reflect the surprise return of the series, which is said to have happened all because of the devoted fan base.

The shocking cancellation of the series after Season 5 left many fans disappointed, especially given the cliffhanger they were left with. Now, finally, Star Wars fans everywhere will get a chance to see the continuation of a story they would never thought would return.
