Voice actor Ashley Eckstein, who played Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, opened up about executive producer Dave Filoni’s initial plans to give her fan-favorite character a love interest.

Per The Direct, during a recent appearance at Emerald City Comic Con, Eckstein confirmed that one of the original story arc plans for The Clone Wars Season 7 featured Ahsoka Tano in a relationship with a character named Nyx Okami. The long-time voice actor admitted she was very happy when Filoni ultimately decided to scrap the arc in favor of the introduction of the Martez sisters.

While the arc was scrapped, some of the material made it into the show. Eckstein explained, "I think they made everything that I recorded, because they did adjust it, but the episodes with Trace, and Rafa, and the Martez sisters, that was originally an arc with… Ahsoka had a boyfriend and his name was Nyx Okami."

In The Clone Wars, Trace and Rafa Martez became friends with Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Order. One of their adventures with the former Jedi Padawan was escaping a spice traffickers called the Pyke Syndicate. The duo once again appeared during Season 1 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, where they tried to acquire technology for the resistance’s fight against the Galactic empire.

The Live-Action Ahsoka Series

A decade after she was introduced, Ahsoka finally made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2, played by Rosario Dawson, whose portrayal was well-received by fans. Later on, Lucasfilm officially announced the development of Dawson’s very own Ahsoka series for Disney+, which is currently in the post-production stage.

The Ahsoka series is expected to take place within the same timeline as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Further details about the project’s plot are still being kept under wraps, but it will reportedly serve as a spiritual continuation of the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Joining Dawson in this new space drama are Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who have been tapped for the respective roles of Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and Hera Syndulla. It will also include Star Wars vet Hayden Christensen as he reprises Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader following his Obi-Wan Kenobi appearance in 2022. This marks the first time that fans will get to see Darth Vader and Ahsoka Tano’s reunion in live-action.
