Hasbro is taking fans on a trip down memory lane with a new line of retro-style Black Series toys for the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars: A New Hope." An added bonus of the toy line is the ability to recreate classic scenes from the film that launched a worldwide phenomenon.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Black Series action figures are 6 inches tall, which puts them much larger than the Kenner originals (Hasbro acquired the company in 1991). However, they are shipped in a similar bubble-and-card packaging that hark back to that bygone era of the late 1970s. Priced at $19.99, the action figures go on sale this spring.
You can witness some of the classic "Star Wars" scenes recreated below, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo sneaking around the Death Star; Leia handing R2-D2 the Death Star plans; Luke and his faithful droids R2-D2 and C-3PO on Tatooine; Leia blasting a Stormtrooper; Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader locked in a lightsaber duel; and the old-school packaging in which each toy arrives..
