Although the sequel Star Wars trilogy hasn't gone particularly in-depth with Kylo Ren's backstory beyond his time with Luke Skywalker, a four-issue Marvel miniseries written by Charles Soule will change all that. Lucasfilm announced the comic, aptly titled Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, at its publishing panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego.Soule revealed the cover for issue #1 on Twitter, which shows Kylo and the Knights of Ren. "As just announced, I am writing THE RISE OF KYLO REN - a limited series comic launching in December, just before Episode IX," he tweeted. "You know the one story everyone's dying to see, about Kylo and the Knights of Ren? That's this. You're not ready (hell, I barely am.)"RELATED: IDW's Star Wars Adventures to Bridge the Gap Between Episodes VIII & IX

Soule wrote Star Wars and Darth Vader books for Marvel. No artist was announced for the project, and an exact release date was not revealed.
