An Australian burlesque Star Wars parody show known as The Empire Strips Back released a very special Yoda video for its fans on May the Fourth.

The Empire Strips Back has achieved quite an international renown for its attention to detail and high production values. It makers have a unique passion for the universe that combines fandom with intergalactically sensual choreographies, but for their traditional May the Fourth video they chose to do something special that everyone could enjoy during the coronavirus global lockdown.

The video, which was posted on the show's YouTube channel, opens with a quick series of fake galactic ads that combine seventies culture with Star Wars characters and creatures before transitioning to a felty, soft Yoda puppet singing over a stream in a sunny forest.

The Yoda Muppet plays banjo for a cover of "The Rainbow Connection", written by Paul Williams and famously sung by Kermit the Frog.

The Empire Strips Back - A Burlesque Parody was created in 2011 by Russall S. Beattie. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, touring shows are on hold for the rest of the year, but the show has promised "big plans" for its return.
