Star Wars, in partnership with FIRST, has announced the Build My Droid contest, where fans will be able to submit their dream designs for the possibility of having their droid featured in an upcoming, as-of-yet unnamed Star Wars project.
Prizes also include two flights and tickets to attend the première of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, along with the winner's droid debuting for the first time during the red carpet before the screening.
The contest will open on October 22, and entries in the form of sketches, drawings or paintings can be submitted at starwars.com/buildmydroidcontest until November 13. The contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia, Canada (excluding Québec), Mexico, Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales only,) Spain, France, Belgium and Japan that are 16 years of age and older at the time of entry.
The droid designs will be judged by a panel that includes Star Wars Creature and Special Make-Up Effects Supervisor Neal Scanlan, Lucasfilm Vice President and Creative Producer John Swartz, Lucasfilm Senior Creative Executive Pablo Hidalgo, celebrity Star Wars fan and STEM advocate Mayim Bialik, and Dean Kamen, FIRST founder and inventor of the LUKE Arm prosthesis.
FIRST is a global robotics community that wants to inspire passion for STEM and robotics in K-12 students. This is one of their first collaborations with Disney, through Star Wars: A Force for Change.

Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E.
