A new TV spot for Disney+'s The Book of Boba Fett proves the legendary bounty hunter and his partner, Fennec Shand, are ready for a fight.

The 30-second spot, titled "Ready," concentrates on Fett, Shand and a variety of potential enemies ready to challenge the iconic bounty hunter's rule on Tatooine. The trailer shows flashes of several tense situations, including Fett surrounded by a group of enemies with plasma shields. A voiceover from Shand says, "This is just the first wave. They're going to war." As Fett ensures his iconic helmet is in place, he says in a voiceover, "Then we will be ready."

The Book of Boba Fett was first teased during the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. At the end of the episode "The Rescue," Fett and Shand arrive on Tatooine and execute Bib Fortuna so Fett can claim the throne once held by Jabba the Hutt. Executive producer Jon Favreau recently discussed how Jabba's absence will have a great influence on The Book of Boba Fett, "There is a power vacuum because Jabba is gone. Jabba was clearly a very strong and imposing leader, who people were very scared of, and who seemed to rule with an iron fist."

Boba Fett was first introduced to the Star Wars galaxy in The Star Wars Holiday Special, but his first appearance in canon came in The Empire Strikes Back. Fett returned in The Return of the Jedi, where he was last seen falling into a sarlacc pit after his jetpack was hit by Han Solo and malfunctioned. A previous trailer for The Book of Boba Fett teased that Fett's escape from the sarlacc would finally be addressed, as Fett says he was "left for dead on the sands of Tatooine."

To promote The Book of Boba Fett, Disney+ released a documentary-style short film about Fett called Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett. The show explained that in the original plans for Fett, he wasn't intended to be a bounty hunter at all. George Lucas planned to include advanced Stormtroopers in The Empire Strikes Back, but budget constraints meant that the new armor designed for them couldn't be produced in large enough numbers. One suit had been produced, however, and that became the basis for the creation of Boba Fett.

The Book of Boba Fett premieres Dec. 29 on Disney+.
