The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison wants revenge for Boba Fett's father, Jango Fett, who was killed by Mace Windu in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

"I owe [Mace Windu] big time for my dad," said Morrison during an interview with IMDB's On the Scene. "[Windu's] done. He's done. I've got my eye on him. He's top of the list, in fact." When Morrison's co-star Ming-Na Wen suggested "slow torture" for Windu at the hands of her character, master assassin Fennec Shand, Morrison replied, "Definitely, yes."

Mace Windu perished at the hands of Darth Sidious long before the events of The Book of Boba Fett, in 2005's Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Windu was betrayed and dismembered by Anakin Skywalker, before being blasted from a high-rise window by the Dark Lord of the Sith.

In the years since Revenge of the Sith's release, fans have called for the return of Master Windu, who some argue could survive the seemingly lethal combination of Palpatine's Force Lightning barrage and the substantial drop that followed. These fans point to the Star Wars franchise's history of characters, including Darth Sidious himself, bouncing back from otherwise fatal falls, as well as the fact that Windu's body was never actually shown on screen, leaving no sure way to confirm his demise.

Rumors surfaced back in September 2020 that Lucasfilm was developing a Star Wars spinoff series that would bring back Samuel L. Jackson as Windu. While these rumors have not been confirmed, it has fuelled speculation that the famed Jedi Master escaped Revenge of the Sith alive. That project has yet to materialize, though, with no further updates on its status, including an announcement, in over a year.

Fett already has his hands full in The Book of Boba Fett, with the newly minted Tatooine crime lord headed for a climactic showdown with the Pyke Syndicate in the final episode of the Disney+ series, set to air on Feb. 9. The Pyke Syndicate recently added fan-favorite bounty hunter Cad Bane to their ranks, setting the stage for a suitably explosive series finale when these two legendary bounty hunters go head-to-head.

The Book of Boba Fett is currently streaming on Disney+.
