Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett has slowly given fans an insight into a world that was previously only mentioned. The series follows Boba as he tries to cement himself as Daimyo of Jabba the Hutt's old territory. While the sequence in the Mandalorian made this seem like a simple hostile takeover, it was anything but. The series gives an idea of everything it takes to be a crimelord in Star Wars.

Managements Sims are a genre that has somewhat fallen out of popularity recently, but a number have slowly made their way to the forefront. The design is based around the management of your resources and staff while slowly building and expanding your base. This genre lends itself to careful planning and taking your time, a premise that might be perfect for Tatooine's criminal underbelly.

One of the first parts of any management sims is building your base and filling it with various rooms with different purposes. This has two purposes; firstly, it gives the game an initial structure as rooms are slowly unlocked, and secondly, it gives a sense of progression. The Book of Boba Fett has shown how this could work throughout the series. Initially, Boba and his gang only really use the bacta room and the main hall. However, he eventually visits the rancor pit, and we see a droid-filled kitchen. The game could slowly allow players to unlock these kinds of rooms, as well as armories and barracks, as they gradually build power.

Speaking of building power, one part of this is building the membership of your gang. Boba slowly gathers a team of tech mods alongside a Wookie and a Rancor. The series gives some idea of how a game could approach recruitment over simply clicking a button to hire more people. For instance, the Rancor comes to Boba as a peace offering of sorts from the Hutt twins. A game could do something similar as your enemies and allies offer more powerful monsters and warriors to secure your assistance or loyalty. There is also a chance for each to have their character. For instance, the Rancor's trainer could be made to focus the creature on loyalty or ferocity.

The Book of Boba Fett makes it clear that respect and fear are two essential parts of being a Daimyo on Tatooine. Boba wishes to be respected more than feared, unlike Jabba the Hutt was. This could be an interesting moral choice in the game, letting players choose how they want to run their empire. For instance, if one of your lesser leaders is found to be skimming credits, you have to deal with them. Do you make use of the Rancor and make an example, or do you try to find a different option that increases the trust and respect of your gang? There are numerous instances of factionalism in the series, and this would certainly be a great addition to a potential management sim.

The Book of Boba Fett is a slower series than the one it sprouted from, and as such, any game based on it should reflect that. The game would give players a chance to experience a new part of the universe they love and help to step away from more Force-focused stories. It would also allow the series to try its hand at different genres and different choices. While there is no mention of a game based on either The Book of Boba Fett or the Mandalorian, both series have a lot to offer to games.
