WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #1 by Charles Soule, Luke Ross, Neeraj Menon, and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale now.

Through the events of War of the Bounty Hunters, Boba Fett has lost Han Solo's body that had been frozen in carbonite. This caused Boba to gain a bounty on his own head that attracted plenty of attention. Many bounty hunters felt they could get a two-for-one by capturing Solo and Fett at the same time. What many of the hunters forget is just how lethal Boba Fett can be. This caused a couple of bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back to become too ambitious, and Fett had the perfect response for them.

Zuckuss and 4-LOM are two of the most experienced bounty hunters in the galaxy. After successfully alerting the Empire to the location of a secret Rebel base, the pair turned their attention back to collecting bounties. This led them to resume their search for Beilert Valance, who had recently teamed up with Dengar to hunt for Solo. Zuckuss and 4-LOM chased their rival hunters through an asteroid field. When Dengar felt things were becoming more dangerous, he made a deal with Zuckuss. He gave them the last known location of Boba Fett in return for his and Valance's lives.

Fett Defends Slave I

In Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #1, Zuckuss and 4-LOM took Dengar's deal and found Fett on Nar Shaddaa. Fett had been inside a local bar when the hunters arrived. They took it upon themselves to check Boba's ship, Slave I. Not only did they search the ship, they also planted a thermal detonator on its exterior. The detonator exploded as Fett approached his ship and Zuckuss made his presence known. The hunters inform Boba that they are only interested in the bounty on Solo. At this point, 4-LOM informed Boba that they searched his ship, which proved to be a fatal mistake.

Boba viewed the damage of his ship as well as Zuckuss and 4-LOM's trespassing to be the ultimate form of disrespect. Boba still flies the same ship his father owned and sees it as one of his most treasured possessions. Fett then activated his ship's laser cannons and targeted Zuckuss. The ensuing explosion caused Zuckuss to be thrown from the landing pad as he barely held onto the edge. Fett approached him and kicked him from the edge, which sent Zuckuss careening towards the surface of the planet. He then turned his attention to 4-LOM who had been split in half from the blast. Fett then removed 4-LOM's head from its body before connecting it with his ship. Here he learned of the bounty that had been placed on his head.

This is not the first comic depicting an altercation between Zuckuss, 4-LOM and Boba Fett concerning Han Solo's carbonite slab. The Shadows of the Empire miniseries by John Wagner and Kilian Plunkett initially depicted Han's whereabouts while in carbonite before the story was inevitably transferred out of canon to Star Wars Legends. This story saw Zuckuss and 4-LOM teaming up with Bossk in an attempt to steal Solo from Fett. Fett would go on to capture Zuckuss and bring him to Tattooine. Here, he disguised Zuckuss as himself to distract the other bounty hunters searching for him.

Zuckuss killed by Boba Fett

Zuckuss and 4-LOM were only two of the many casualties to come at the hands of Boba Fett. While it's possible that Zuckuss may survive his fall, this is more than likely the end of 4-LOM. Boba traveled from Nar Shaddaa to Tatooine with 4-LOM's head before chucking it aside outside Jabba's Palace. This means that even if Zuckuss miraculously survived the fall from the landing pad, he would have no knowledge of where his friend's head ended up.

Boba Fett is truly out for blood at this point. With Crimson Dawn revealing themselves as the current owners of Han Solo's body, they have put themselves in the crosshairs of Boba Fett. Fett will stop at nothing to reclaim Solo for his own and clear his name in the process. Only one thing is for sure at this point; anyone who steps in Boba Fett's way will surely regret it.
