An integral member of the Star Wars' Jedi Council, Plo Koon was a Kel Dor from the planet Dorin. A seasoned Jedi Master, Plo Koon was level-headed and cautious, and extremely brave in tough situations. In fact, he undertook several missions, leading the 104th Battalion to stop the Separatist forces from taking over the galaxy.

But more than that, Plo Koon was kind, considerate, and encouraging with his words—not only to his fellow Jedi but the clone troopers as well. He was also responsible for bringing Ahsoka Tano into the world of the Jedi. Unfortunately, he was one of the many Jedi who were assassinated when Darth Sidious issued Order 66, turning the clone troopers against the Jedi in a most deadly way.

10 “If You Have Trained Her Well, She Shall Take Care Of Herself. And Find A Way Back To You.”

Plo Koon Speaks To Anakin

Plo Koon, Anakin, and Ahsoka are together on a mission to Felucia, where they are to attack an army of droids. They have a well-thought-out plan in mind—wherein each Jedi will lead from a specific position. The plan seems to work quite well, with the droids falling into the trap they've set out. But in the middle of all this, Ahsoka gets kidnapped by a group of Trandoshans and ends up trapped with other prisoners in a transporter.

Anakin is terribly worried about her and looks for her everywhere, but he can't find her. Plo Koon tries to calm him down. He tells him to trust Ahsoka and to trust her skills that she will find a path back to them.

9 “There He Goes Again, Craving Adventure & Excitement.”

Anakin and Plo Koon - Clone wars

In The Clone Wars episode "Destroy Malevolence," Padmé finds herself caught in a manipulative scheme—within General Grievous' grasp. While the Republic forces are attacking the Malevolence, her own ship is brought into the fold—due to Darth Sidious and Count Dooku's nefarious plans—and she is forcibly caught between a major space battle.

Anakin, coming to know of this, can't help but feel protective of her. And even though Padmé tells the Republic faction to continue the fight irrespective of whether her ship might get destroyed, Anakin can't let her be alone. He jumps into action, as Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Plo Koon watch on, and says, "Somebody has to save her skin." That's when Plo Koon, amused, remarks that Anakin is off "craving adventure" once again.

8 “Not To Me”

Plo Koon In The Clone Wars

In one of the lowest points of his life, Plo Koon finds himself (along with his clone troopers) stuck without any help on an escape pod, with General Grievous and his ship, the Malevolence, on the lookout for him. Plo Koon and the others have to stay optimistic that someone will come save them, although they can't help but feel they won't survive the ordeal.

The clone troopers especially are quite dejected, and one of them even states that he is sure no one will come to save them. That's when Plo Koon turns around and asks why he is so certain, and Sergeant Sinker replies, "We’re just clones, sir. We’re meant to be expendable." It's a very vulnerable moment, and Plo Koon is quick to show his compassionate and determined side, as he utters three strong words: "Not to me."

7 “When You Ask For Trouble, You Should Not Be Surprised If It Finds You.”

Plo Koon Was A Jedi Master

In the "Rising Malevolence" episode of The Clone Wars, Plo Koon and his group of clone troopers are in the middle of a huge problem and have no idea if help will arrive in time to save them from the Separatist forces. The Jedi Master and his troopers are trying their best to find a solution to their predicament but are finding it difficult to alert allies about their location without accidentally notifying General Grievous about it instead.

The situation is dire and in need of some drastic measures, but Plo Koon is still cautious about the methods. And so he advises Sergeant Sinker to not make matters worse in the pursuit of a solution. When the Sergeant wonders how exactly they could find themselves in an even worse situation, Plo Koon replies with, "When you ask for trouble, you should not be surprised if it finds you."

6 “Your Emotions Are Clouding Your Judgment.”

Plo Koon With Anakin And Ahsoka

The one thing that is of utmost importance to the Jedi is the lack of emotion. Fear and anger are the most terrifying tools for them, which can lead a Jedi from the path of light to the path of dark. Anakin, who traverses both paths, is perhaps one of the most emotional Force-sensitive beings. He is almost always guided by his emotions, even if it means going against his superiors. And if someone he knows is in danger, he'll give it his all to rescue them.

Such is the case when Ahsoka goes missing in the "Padawan Lost" episode of The Clone Wars. Even as Plo Koon tells him to let go of his emotions and think with a clear head, he can't help but get frantic over Ahsoka's disappearance.

5 "I Don't Believe In Chance. I Know If We Work Together We Will Stay Alive, & Someone Will Find Us.”

More than anyone else, Plo Koon seems to have a very reassuring presence. When others are panicking and unsure, Plo Koon is there to calm them down and tell them to believe in themselves. He motivates people very well, without coming off as condescending.

For example, when he is hiding from the Separatists in the Abregado system with his clone troopers, he keeps reassuring the soldiers that they will survive the ordeal. Almost like a child asking his father, the troopers ask Plo Koon if he thinks they've got a chance. And the Jedi replies with the utmost calm that, yes, they do. And that if they work together they'll stay alive.

4 “We Can Do This The Simple Way Or The Difficult Way. The Choice Is Yours.”

Plo Koon Talks To Boba fett

Ever since Mace Windu killed his father Jango, by beheading him, Boba Fett has been on the lookout for the purple lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master. Though still a child, he is filled with rage and determination to avenge his father's death.

In The Clone Wars episode "Lethal Trackdown," when he spots a Jedi ship in the distance, he is overjoyed to think Mace might be on it. But the Jedis on board turn out to be someone else—Plo Koon and Ahsoka Tano. Boba has aligned himself with a couple of bounty hunters by this point and holds important information with regards to an abduction. When Plo Koon asks him about it, he refuses to talk to him, saying he wanted Mace Windu to come to him. That is when Plo Koon sternly but resolutely tells him that he is making things unnecessarily difficult when he can easily help them.

3 “Master Skywalker Seems To Inspire Great Confidence In His Men.”

Plo Koon With Ahsoka

With their target, the ship called Malevolence, acquired the Republic forces are deep in planning how to destroy it. Anakin has an ambitious idea in mind, which would require a lot of aggression on the part of the Y-Wing bombers. But Plo Koon thinks it unwise and unachievable.

Anakin and his men don't think so, though. When the young Jedi asks one of his men, Matchstick, if the plan can be pulled off, Matchstick replies with: "Yes, sir! There hasn’t been a mission Shadow Squadron couldn’t complete. That’s right. Minimal casualties, maximum effectiveness. That’s us." Impressed by the show of faith, Plo Koon remarks that Anakin is a great leader who motivates his soldiers quite well.

2 “Not Everything Is What It Seems. There May Be A New Threat.”

Plo Koon Was A Jedi Master

In the aftermath of the horrible battle at the Temple of Eedit on Devaron, where several ARF troopers, as well as the Jedi Halsey and Knox, lost their lives, Obi-Wan and the other Jedis on Coruscant were perplexed as to who could have caused such death and destruction.

They all know Dooku is behind it somehow, but they can't think of anyone still alive to commit such atrocious acts. Plo Koon, swiftly understands an unknown entity is behind the violence. But erroneously thinks it's a Sith Lord. But Obi-Wan knows it's someone far more "impulsive" and "reckless," someone who is an "animal." He is right, too, for the perpetrator turns out to be his old nemesis, Darth Maul's brother Savage Opress.

1 “You've Adopted Many Of Your Master's Ways, Including A Lack Of Subtlety.”

Plo Koon Talks To Ahsoka in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Usually, in a Master-Padawan situation, the Padawan is a more reckless and rule-breaking kind and the Master is the more mature and cautious kind. But in the case of Anakin and Ahsoka, both are incredibly rash and direct, reckless and quick-thinking.

Even then, there is a lot that Ahsoka learns from Anakin. Her fighting skills, especially, improve drastically under his tutelage. But unfortunately, she also apes her Master another way, by being too impatient and choosing a direct attack instead of a more subtle plan of action. Plo Koon says so himself when Ahsoka and he are moving around in the Underworld of Coruscant.
