The Star Wars universe has been introducing new and exciting planets for over 40 years. Whether it is in a movie, TV show, novel, or comic book, Star Wars has given its fans a variety of planets that make up the galaxy. While some planets are given less than satisfactory attributes, others are displayed in a rather positive light.

Several factors go into determining what makes a good planet, such as topographical features, climate, and wildlife, among other things. While no planet is perfect, there are some planets in the Star Wars universe that are more inhabitable than others.

10 D'Qar Served As A Base Of Operations for The Resistance

The Force Awakens Planet D'Qar

D'Qar of the Ileenium system served as the location of the Resistance base in The Force Awakens, before evacuating the planet at the beginning of The Last Jedi. The planet's surface has a temperate climate along with forests, mountains, and plains.

Before the Resistance established their base, the only inhabitants on the planet were the wildlife. Though there are a few dangerous creatures that populate the planet, it is hard to imagine why people would not move to D'Qar after hearing about its many favorable characteristics.

9 The Islands Of Ahch-To Exhibit Abundant Greenery

Ahch-To Star Wars Sequels

First appearing in The Force Awakens, Ahch-To is the planet where Luke Skywalker exiled himself after Ben Solo became Kylo Ren and joined the First Order. Ahch-To was also the location where the Jedi Order was founded. The planet is made up of mostly water and a few islands.

The islands are covered with lush trees and wildlife, including the Porgs, who were first introduced in The Last Jedi. With very few occupants, there would be plenty of room for people to settle on Ahch-To.

8 The Tropical Climate Makes Scarif An Ideal Place To Call Home

Rogue-One-Scarif-battle

As the setting of the final battle in Rogue One, Scarif is an important location in the Star Wars universe. This planet was the site of the much sought-after Death Star plans. Scarif features a tropical climate with waterways, beaches, and jungles. Even though the planet was under the control of the Empire, the natural beauty is undeniable.

The last few minutes of the film saw much of the planet being obliterated by the Death Star's superlaser, which included the deaths of Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and many others.

7 The Jungles Of Kashyyyk Make For A Lush World

Kashyyyk Star Wars Attack of the Clones

The home of the Wookiees first appeared in the Star Wars Holiday Special in 1978 and again in Revenge of the Sith in 2005. In the latter, Yoda and Chewbacca were present on Kashyyyk when Order 66 was put into effect.

Full of forests, waterways, and coral reefs, Kashyyyk could be described as a jungle paradise. Not unlike what the Ewoks did on Endor, many of the cities on Kashyyyk were built in the trees. Though the planet has some dangerous wildlife, the positive characteristics seem to outweigh the negative ones on Kashyyyk.

6 Coruscant Glamorizes Living In A Big City

Star Wars Coruscant

Featured heavily in the prequel trilogy, Coruscant was the homeworld of the Jedi. It was also considered to be the capital of the galaxy. The planet is essentially one big city, with countless skyscrapers lining the horizon. While Coruscant lacks much in the way of waterways and mountains, it makes up for it in its futuristic urban center.

Additionally, Coruscant became advanced enough to be able to control the weather. With such a modern and state-of-the-art setup, Coruscant would be a great place to live.

5 Alderaan Has A Little Bit Of Everything

Alderaan Star Wars

After Luke and Leia were born, Leia was taken to Alderaan where she was raised by Bail and Breha Organa. The planet had a great deal of mountain ranges, forests, waterways, and natural resources. Unfortunately, during A New Hope, Princess Leia's homeworld was blown up by Grand Moff Tarkin using the Death Star.

Princess Leia was one of the few survivors of the catastrophic event. However, if it had not been destroyed, many people would likely choose to call the planet of Alderaan their new home.

4 Yavin 4 Provided The Rebels With A Forest Paradise

Rebel Base On Yavin 4 Star Wars

The moon first featured onscreen in A New Hope and served as the site of the Rebel base. Yavin 4 is made up of forests and jungles and offers a moderate climate. Even with an ideal topography, the planet does have a few negative aspects, including a lack of certain essential materials, like minerals.

Yavin 4 is also the birthplace of Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. In The Empire Strikes Back, the Rebels moved their base to a much colder climate on the planet of Hoth.

3 Endor Features An Aesthetically Pleasing Forest Environment

Storm Troopers and a Chicken Walker march through the Forest Moon Endor From Star Wars

The forest moon filled with furry, yet deadly creatures known as Ewoks would most likely be a good place to live in the Star Wars universe. Endor features a habitable environment with lots of trees, lush mountains, and clear air. However, it might not be the ideal place to live while under Empire occupation.

Once the Rebels helped to destroy the Death Star, the Empire forfeited their control over Endor. After that, it seems like Endor would become one of the most desirable locations to live in the galaxy.

2 Bespin Is A Futuristic Display Of A Peaceful Society

Bespin Star Wars

The planet of Bespin was first introduced as the home of Lando Calrissian in Empire Strikes Back. Even though there is no suitable land to live on, the constructed colony of Cloud City proved to be a more than sufficient settlement.

As the administrator of Cloud City, one of Bespin's major cities, Lando had helped turn Cloud City into a futuristic utopia and a popular tourist location. Before Darth Vader showed up, Bespin was a paradise in the clouds. However, after the fall of the Empire, it is safe to assume that Bespin went back to being a great place to live.

1 The Natural Beauty Of Naboo Surpasses Every Other Planet In The Galaxy

Star-Wars-Naboo

The homeworld of Padmé Amidala, Palpatine, and Jar Jar Binks, Naboo is a planet filled with waterways, swamps, mountains, and forests. While only present during the prequels, the planet made quite the impact due to its natural beauty and peaceful environment.

At the end of Attack of the Clones, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé got married on Naboo with only R2-D2 and C-3PO as witnesses. Talk about a romantic destination, even though Qui-Got Jinn is killed by Darth Maul on this planet, in The Phantom Menace.
