The massive video game expo known as E3 is nearly underway over in L.A. With its arrival will come loads of upcoming video game news and trailers. To kick things off, E3 2017 and EA Play have revealed a first look at the multiplayer gameplay from the highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront II.

Showcasing over a minute and a half’s worth of footage, and accompanied by epic Star Wars music to create a dynamic feel, the trailer may not show off much of the storyline, but it does provide fans with a healthy understanding about what to expect in the multiplayer experience.

When the first Star Wars Battlefront II trailer hit the net a couple months ago, fans went into a proverbial frenzy, as the trailer seemed to hit all the right notes, giving lovers of the franchise much of what they were looking for. The trailer was quickly removed, but this new trailer should more than make up for the loss of the first one.

Taking bits and pieces from nearly every major point in history of the Star Wars films, Battlefront II meshes them all into one to deliver a wide range of game playing opportunities. Like its predecessor, Star Wars Battlefront, players once again have the option of choosing to fight either for the Dark Side or the Light Side. There are plenty of ships to choose from, along with nearly every character you could hope to play as, including Rey, and even Kylo Ren. The new trailer definitely suggests a plethora of gameplay possibilities, bordering on the lines of an open world experience.

Yet, perhaps one of the biggest moments of the trailer, aside from launching all out assaults on various cities as a Stormtrooper or Boba Fett, is the sudden reveal of Darth Maul, clearly a playable character and looking just as impressive as you would wish; jumping around and raining down destruction with his dual-sided red lightsaber.

Arriving in November, Battlefront II introduces a new story mode that begins with the Battle of Endor and continues through the birth of the First Order. You’ll play a new character, Commander Iden Versio, leader of the Galactic Empire’s elite Inferno Squad, who sees victory on Endor slip from her grasp with the destruction of the second Death Star. As Iden’s team sets off on “an extraordinary odyssey of revenge, betrayal and redemption,” players are taken on a 30-year journey from the events of Return of the Jedi to The Force Awakens, encountering key figures from Star Wars history along the way.

Star Wars Battlefront II arrives Nov. 17 worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
