The premiere episode of Disney+'s Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to be a long one.

Along with The Bad Batch's first official trailer was the news that the May 4 premiere episode will be 70 minutes long. After that, new episodes will premiere every Friday on Disney+, though it's still unclear how many episodes are planned.

Compared to the previously released sizzle reel, The Bad Batch's new trailer offers a more story-heavy look at Clone Force 99's endeavors in the aftermath of the Clone Wars. The trailer begins with Hunter, Tech, Echo, Crosshair and Wrecker surviving a test authorized by Wilhuff Tarkin, who notes their "concerning level of disobedience and disregard for orders" despite being incredibly efficient soldiers. We then see the group interact with a new character named Omega, whom they take with them on the run after Tarkin authorizes the group's elimination. Other scenes involve the Bad Batch meeting a pre-Mandalorian Fennec Shand and even a returning Saw Gerrera, who tells them they "can either adapt and survive, or die with the past."

The Bad Batch made its debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars' seventh season, with Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex and Commander Cody recruiting Clone Force 99 to help them uncover how the Separatists have been able to anticipate Republic strategies in recent battles. The source, as they learn, is Clone Trooper Echo, who presumably died in Season 3 but was actually found by the Techno Union, who used his body and mind to learn Clone tactics. Despite rescuing him, Echo's new cybernetic augmentations meant that he'd no longer fit in amongst the Clone Troopers, with Rex allowing him to join the Bad Batch as a new member instead.
