The latest Star Wars "immersive experiment" will be free virtual pet simulator available for free on Magic Leap Headsets.

In December, Lucasfilm's technology studio ILMxLAB will release Star Wars: Project Porg on the virtual reality platform. As hinted by the name, the augmented reality title will let users raise their own Porgs, the adorable creatures introduced in last year's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The program is hosted by C-3PO with Anthony Daniels reprising his role voicing the golden protocol droid. The upcoming simulator is developed by Industrial Light & Magic animation supervisor Paul Kavanagh.

Star Wars: Project Porg

Project Porg is the second augmented reality program in development by ILMxLAB this year with a Darth Vader simulator Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series - Episode I announced by Lucasfilm last month. The previously announced title is being developed for the Oculus headset and is expected to be released sometime next year.

ILMxLAB is an immersive entertainment studio launched by LucasFilm in 2015 with a focus on location-based virtual reality programs based on the Star Wars Universe.

Available in December, Star Wars: Project Porg will be released for free on Magic Leap Headsets everywhere.
