The Force moves in mysterious ways in Star Wars, and no one's life has typified that more than Ahsoka Tano's. The events of the Clone Wars forged her into one of the most dangerous warriors in the galaxy, and as someone key to defeating the Empire. She was so important that even when she died, the Force seemed to make sure she found her way back to life.

A Togruta from the planet Shili, Ahsoka was found at a young age by Jedi Master Plo Koon. This was the beginning of Ahsoka's training, as well as her long friendship with Master Koon. When war broke out, Ahsoka was assigned to Anakin Skywalker as his Padawan. Their dynamic was unique among the Jedi, filled with a lot more arguing and honest conversation. They also had a tencdency to ignore the orders of the Jedi High Council.

Ahsoka's time as a Jedi came to an unceremonious end when she was accused of a crime she didn't commit. She was kicked out of the Jedi Order before she was convicted of anything. When Ahsoka was proved to be innocent, the Jedi High Council asked her to return. She refused, instead choosing to forge her own path. As it turned out, that was most likely the will of the Force as she had a far greater destiny than simply being a Jedi.

Ahsoka Had a Destiny Beyond the Jedi Order

During the Clone Wars, Ahsoka, Anakin and Obi-Wan ended up on a mysterious world called Mortis. It was the home of three Force avatars known as the Daughter, the Brother and the Father. All three Jedi learned a lot about their respective futures, and what the Force had in store for them. However, they were robbed of those memories when they left Mortis. In particular, some words spoken to Ahsoka seemed to indicate her destiny would carry her away from Anakin and the Jedi Order.

That adventure almost ended for Ahsoka on Mortis, when she was killed by the Brother. But the Father stepped in, and used the life essence of the recently slain Daughter to resurrect Ahsoka. At the time, it seemed like like a stroke of luck. Without the Father's intervention, Ahsoka would have died. But, as someone so deeply connected to the Force, the Father would have known the role Ahsoka was to play, and that she would need to live.

Because of the Father's intervention, Ahsoka survived, and helped to build the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire. Captain Rex played a key role in that effort. He escaped Order 66, thanks to Ahsoka. If she had died on Mortis, Rex would have become yet another brainwashed Clone in service of the Empire. However, Mortis wasn't the only time Ahsoka would flirt with oblivion.

In Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka traveled to Malachor with Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus, in search of information on how to defeat the Sith. A lot happened on the Sith planet: The team killed three Imperial Inquisitors, Maul finally reappeared, and Kanan lost his sight. Most important, however, was Ahsoka's confrontation with Darth Vader, which confirmed he was in fact her former mentor, Anakin Skywalker. The fight ended with the apparent death of Ahsoka.

Ezra Bridger saves Ahsoka Tano in the World Between Worlds, on Star Wars Rebels

After a long time passed, the Force guided Ezra to the Jedi Temple on Lothal. There, he passed through a gateway and entered the World Between Worlds, a mysterious nexus of time and space. Through Morai, the Force guided Ezra to the correct gateway to save Ahsoka, moments before she died on Malachor. Once again, the Force took a hand in ensuring that Ahsoka lived.

What happened to Ahsoka after her second resurrection is unknown, other than what was shown at the end of Rebels, and in her appearances on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. But her 2023 miniseries on Disney+ might illuminate fans. Her current mission seems to relate to finding Grand Admiral Thrawn and possibly the long-missing Ezra Bridger. While she may not be a Jedi, the Force has been clear that the galaxy needs Ahsoka to survive.
