When the young Togruta first appeared in 2008's universally panned Star Wars: The Clone Wars—the sudden introduction of Anakin Skywalker's apprentice was not well received. Given her absence in Revenge of the Sith, many fans felt that Ahsoka Tano would kick the bucket and were reluctant to invest in the brash, impulsive Padawan.

10 Tera Sinube Humbles Ahsoka After She Loses Her Lightsaber

Tera Sinube and Ahsoka in Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Like her headstrong master, the young Ahsoka tends to be brazen and prideful. The latter of these traits leads to her refusal to inform Anakin about a pickpocket stealing her lightsaber during a scuffle in the Coruscant underworld. She instead enlists the help of the knowledgable Tera Sinube, who informs the apprentice of the thief she is looking for.

Before Ahsoka can rush off in pursuit, however, Sinube insists on tagging along, much to the Padawan's annoyance. Despite their clashing personalities, Ahsoka eventually warms to the old Jedi's approaches, resulting in the duo successfully apprehending the criminals involved. Her lightsaber returned, Ahsoka also learns from Sinube the rare value of patience.

Anakin Reprimanding Ahsoka After Losing Her Squadron

Something unique that sets Ahsoka apart from the other great Jedi of her time (like her own master) is her ability to learn from her mistakes. Overconfident, the young Jedi quickly leads her men to their deaths due to her callous actions.

Ahsoka is shaken by the incident and struggles to contend with the death of her subordinates. However, the Padawan isn't given time to rest as Anakin hatches a dangerous plan, leaving Ahsoka in charge of the Republic flagship Resolute. With the Separatists' attention diverted, Ahsoka overcomes her doubts and leads another bombing squadron to seal the droids' defeat.

Darth Vader and Ahsoka battle

Perhaps the most iconic (and painful) moment of Ahsoka's history comes when she confronts her former master in the Sith temple of Malachor in the season finale of Rebels. Darth Vader's strength is simply unmatched in the galaxy at this point in time, and despite the Togruta's quick and agile attacks, it's clear that even she is no match for the mighty Sith lord.

However, even in the face of inevitable defeat, Ahsoka's resolve to save Anakin holds strong. After slashing open the side of Vader's helmet, the former Padawan hears the disembodied voice of the man who was once her master. Even as Vader threatens to kill her, Ahsoka reaffirms her own belief, vowing to not leave her master again.
