Ahsoka Tano is one of the most significant characters introduced into the Star Wars mythology outside of the films themselves. Star Wars media has followed Ahsoka's life from her preteen years to middle-age, and along the way she's had one of the most complete character arcs in Star Wars, from a headstrong rookie to a mature and wise Jedi.

Ahsoka's internal character isn't the only thing that's changed; her appearance has gradually evolved since her debut in The Clone Wars to her most recent chronological appearance in Star Wars Rebels. Let's take a look at the various outfits Ahsoka's worn over her adventures, and see how they stack up against each other.

7 The Clone Wars Seasons 1-2 Outfit

Ahsoka had a rough start; after her introduction in The Clone Wars pilot movie and for much of the first season, she was mostly disdained by fans, who viewed her headstrong impulsiveness and flippant attitude as annoying rather than endearing. As such, its fitting that the outfit Ahsoka was introduced in remains easily the worst design of the character. The threadbare tube top stands out in particular as a misguided choice. Aside from being ludicrously impractical to wear while fighting a war, the outfit also encourages leering at the then only 14-15 year old Ahsoka.

6 Zygerrian Slave Outfit

While investigating the abduction of Togruta colonists by Separatist-allied Zygerrian slavers, Ahsoka, alongside Anakin, went undercover on the slavers' homeworld. While Anakin, in the guise of "Lars Quell," worked to seduce the Zygerrians' queen, Ahsoka disguised herself as a slave, with the accompanying outfit to sell the deception.

While relatively modest by the standards of past Star Wars slave costumes, the outfit strikes a nice balance between being beautiful and demeaning; it's clearly something Ahsoka would never wear of her own accord, which earns it this low ranking.

5 Civilian Outfit

Ahsoka Tano

After leaving the Jedi Order at the end of The Clone Wars' fifth season, Ahsoka chose a new look to reflect her new life. Fitting this, the outfit she wore during The Clone Wars Season 7's middle arc is her least distinctive appearance. The civilian outfit is a blue one-piece rather than the form-fitting, mahogany-red suits she worn as a Jedi. To add some color diversity, the accessories are colored a rustic brown, such as the belt, wrist gauntlets, and a headband swapping out the golden jewelry Ahsoka had worn as a Jedi. Overall, the outfit has a distinct working class aesthetic, specifically resembling a mechanic's suit, so it makes sense that Ahsoka chose to wear it while assimilating to life in the lower levels of Coruscant. However, it's for that very same reason why Ahsoka ditched it after departing on a grander adventure.

4 White Cloak

This outfit only briefly appeared, in the final scene of the Star Wars Rebels finale, but it left an impression nonetheless. The outfit, from the color scheme to the staff, is clearly designed to homage Gandalf, specifically his revenant "Gandalf The White" persona, fitting since Ahsoka herself returned after seemingly perished in a duel with Darth Vader.

The simple white cloak contrasts the black robes so often worn by the Sith, while also excellently reflecting Ahsoka's character development. Ahsoka developed from a rookie Padawan Learner to a wise teacher, so it's only fitting that her chronologically latest outfit would reflect her evolution into a master of the Light Side of the Force.

3 The Clone Wars Seasons 3-5 Outfit

As fans started to warm to Ahsoka during the second and third seasons of The Clone Wars, the production team made the wise decision of redesigning her to reflect her growing maturity. Her second outfit, introduced midway through Season 3 in episode "Heroes On Both Sides," is a massive improvement on the first while still being recognizably the same character. The longer top results in a more appropriate outfit while the black leggings make for a more consistent color scheme. Beyond clothing, she was also slightly taller while the montrals and lekku atop her head had grown longer. Topping it off, it was this redesign that granted Ahsoka a second Lightsaber, making her fighting style more distinct while reflecting her growing combat prowess.

2 Rebels Outfit

Star Wars Rebels Ahsoka Tano

When Ahsoka returned to television screens in the Rebels Season 1 finale, the animation style of the new series and her having aged 14 years since the end of the Clone Wars meant a new design was inevitable. Thankfully, Ahsoka's look in Rebels turn out to be one of her best.

Now an adult, Ahsoka's rebels look had a more armored appearance than before, and she finally looked like the truly formidable warrior she had been for so long. The redesign extended further to her Lightsabers; having lost her original pair during the Clone Wars, Ahsoka wielded a new pair during Rebels whose blades shone white, reflecting her simultaneous allegiance to the Light and split from Jedi Order orthodoxy.

1 The Siege Of Mandalore Outfit

In terms of release date, Ahsoka's latest appearance was in the recently finished seventh season of The Clone Wars; her design in the finale arc of the show from where she originated turned to be the best one yet. Recruited by Bo-Katan to free Mandalore from Maul's grip, Ahsoka was also gifted new outfit adorned in Mandalorian markings. The design simultaneously acts as a capstone for Ahsoka's growth in The Clone Wars and as a bridge to her look from Rebels, and fulfills both functions perfectly. The blue-and-silver color scheme of the suit provides a beautiful color contrast with Ahsoka's orange skin; the same goes for her Lightsabers, whose blades now shine blue. The quality of the episodes' animation plays a role; Ahsoka had never moved with such life--like vibrancy before, and the streamlined look of the design mixed with its distinct but not ostentatious color scheme means it's an utter joy to watch her fight her way through the Siege of Mandalore and Order 66.
