Disney+'s upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka has reportedly received not only a new production start window, but also a working title.

Citing Production Weekly, the Star Wars news site Bespin Bulletin reports that filming on the Rosario Dawson-led series is now due to begin in April. Although no firm end date for production has been confirmed, it "could go on until quite late in the year." Like other Star Wars properties, Ahsoka has been given a working title, which is said to be "Stormcrow."

Earlier information shared in Production Weekly stated that Ahsoka would begin filming in January of this year in Los Angeles, with filming on The Mandalorian Season 3 due to run until March 23. However, now that additional weeks of filming have been added to The Mandalorian, the start date for Ashoka has been pushed back. As Ahsoka is a spinoff of The Mandalorian, the show shares several members of the production crew, such as creators/writers/directors Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Despite the extension to filming, Season 3 of The Mandalorian is still said to be eyeing a Christmas 2022 release.

Ahsoka Tano first appeared in the Star Wars galaxy in the 2008 animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was a series regular on the television show of the same name. She was the Padawan to Anakin Skywalker, until a false accusation from the Jedi Order led to her choosing to leave the Order and discover her own path. She also featured heavily in Star Wars Rebels, first being introduced as the mysterious informant Fulcrum before revealing her true identity. The finale of Rebels saw Ahsoka and Sabine Wren vow to find Ezra Bridger after he disappeared into hyperspace with Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Disney+'s Ahsoka will pick up where Rebels left off, with Ahsoka and Sabine still searching for the missing Ezra. As well as Dawson reprising her role as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen will once again appear in some form as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

The show has also cast Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ivanna Sakhno in roles that have not yet been officially identified. According to reports, however, Sakhno is due to play a new character known only as Astrid. Described as a "formidable mercenary," she is said to "either follow the path of her unit or take hold of her own aspiration in service of her own glory."
