More details for the Disney+ Star Wars series Ahsoka have been revealed, including a plot summary and start date for filming.

The show is due to start shooting in Los Angeles this month, according to a production listing posted to Reddit. Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ivanna Sakhno are listed as starring. The plot summary introduces Ahsoka Tano, "a Togruta female, who was the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker and a hero of the Clone Wars." Although Ahsoka trained under Skywalker for several years, "her destiny laid along a different path to the Jedi." As referenced in her Mandalorian appearance, the summary confirms Ahsoka is "on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago."

Ahsoka made her Star Wars debut in The Clone Wars animated movie, released in 2008. She was a series regular in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels but didn't make her live-action debut until Season 2 of The Mandalorian, where Rosario Dawson played the dual-lightsaber-wielding Force user. Director and co-writer of The Clone Wars and Rebels, Dave Filoni, is also attached to co-write and executive produce Ahsoka.

Ahsoka started her Star Wars journey as the young and enthusiastic Padawan of Anakin Skywalker but left the Jedi order in Season 5 of The Clone Wars after she was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple. Although cleared of all charges, the lack of support from the Jedi left her disillusioned with the Order.

She returned in Rebels as the mysterious informant Fulcrum, who helped Hera Syndulla and the rest of the Rebel team in their fight against the Empire and Grand Admiral Thrawn. In the final episode of Rebels, "Family Reunion and Farewell," Thrawn and Ezra Bridger are dragged into hyperspace by the whale-like purrgil creatures, with Ahsoka and Sabine Wren promising to find Ezra and bring him home. When Ahsoka appears again in The Mandalorian, she is still searching for Thrawn.

Previous reports regarding Ahsoka's production confirmed Hayden Christensen's return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and suggested Natasha Liu Bordizzo will play Sabine Wren. Less is known about Ivanna Sakhno's role, but she is rumored to be playing a character called Astrid, a "formidable mercenary" who "can either follow the path of her unit or take hold of her own aspiration in service of her own glory."
