As part of Marvel Comics' year-long celebration of Star Wars counting down to the release of Star Wars: Episode IX this December, the publisher has announced a series of one-shots under the banner Star Wars: Age of Rebellion, spotlighting the heroes and villains of the original film trilogy.

Written by Greg Pak, the anthology of comic titles will have the hero stories illustrated by Chris Sprouse and villain tales illustrated by Marc Laming, who previously collaborated with Pak on Dynamite Entertainment's James Bond series. The Age of Rebellion covers will be illustrated by Terry and Rachel Dodson.

In addition to the line of one-shots, Marvel will be publishing a special in April with short stories focusing on other heroes and villains of the original trilogy written by Guggenheim, Jon Adams and Si Spurrier and illustrated by Adams, Caspar Wijngaard and Andrea Broccardo with the cover illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Guru-eFX.

With one-shots covering everyone from Han Solo to Darth Vader running from April through June, Star Wars' classic cast of heroes and villains are about to return to the spotlight once again.
