One of these new images assembles the Millennium Falcon's new flight crew, which is comprised of Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), Chewbacca, BB-8 and the franchise's newest droid, D-0.
Vanity Fair's coverage confirms Lando will, once again, take the reins of the so-called fastest ship in the galaxy. Describing his character in The Rise of Skywalker, Williams says, "He's a survivor."
The actor is returning to the iconic role of Lando after last playing him in 1983's Return of the Jedi. However, fans got to see how the character first lost the Falcon to Han Solo in 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. Now, the final chapter in the saga will show how he finally takes it back.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Matt Smith, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film arrives Dec. 20.
