Star Trek: Voyager is considered the neglected stepchild of the franchise. Premiering in 1995 to coincide with the launch of the UPN network, the show featured the first female captain and a return of a Vulcan to the senior staff. Additionally, it was the first Star Trek series to take place outside of the Alpha Quadrant.

During the show's seven seasons, the Voyager and its crew crossed the expansive Delta Quadrant to get back home. Along the way, its fans connected to their favorite characters. Perhaps they would have been better matched if they linked them to their Zodiac sign.

12 AIRES: Tom Paris

Tom Paris will do anything if it feels right.

Tom is someone who can be a natural leader when he wants to and a menace when he has something set in his mind. He has the traits of being motivated and passionate. If he sees an injustice being performed he'll do what he can to fix it.

It's how he went from Starfleet to the Maquis and their battle with the Cardassians. It's also why he ended up in the brig for 30 days during the season five episode "Thirty Days." His passion was the main reason he leaped at the chance for a relationship with the B'Elanna Torres, Voyager's Chief Engineer.

11 TAURUS: Neelix

Star Trek Voyager Neelix

Neelix was the first ally Voyager's crew discovered when they first entered the Delta Quadrant. From a race known as the Talaxians, he became the ship's cook, morale officer, and knowledge base for the region. Despite everything he does on the ship, Neelix also has a sensual and serene side.

He isn't afraid to sit with a cup of tea and watch the stars go by. He'll spend as much time putting together a great meal for the crew as he would in a game of three-dimensional chess. While pleasure is at the epicenter of his life, Neelix is also a focused and resilient member of the senior staff.

10 GEMINI: Harry Kim

Harry Kim was never promoted throughout all of Star Trek: Voyager.

Fresh out of Starfleet Academy when he joined Voyager's bridge crew, Ensign Harry Kim puts his emotions out in the open for everyone to see. Of the senior staff, Harry uses his Gemini traits to develop ways to get out of the Delta Quadrant as quickly as possible. Though he is a technical wizard, he can also delve into realms of imagination and spirituality to recharge his cells.

Harry has other traits that connect him to a Gemini. He has genuine compassion for everyone he works with. Though he can be shy at times, he truly opens up and speaks to everyone about anything. Unfortunately, that sometimes leads to him putting his proverbial Starfleet boot into his mouth.

9 CANCER: Tuvok

On Star Trek: Voyager, Tim Russ' Tuvok glances to the side.

Tuvok became the first Vulcan to appear on a Star Trek program since Spock. The lack of a Vulcan-human heritage made him a bit more logical than his earlier counterpart. Yet, he still displayed several Cancer traits during his time on Voyager.

Among them was the ability to live in both the technological and spiritual realms. He was ready to do battle as much as he was to meditate about life's existence. It also took time to know Tuvok, especially after he revealed himself to be a plant in the Maquis. However, he became a trusted friend to many as the show continued.

8 LEO: Q

Though he thinks he's a celebrity, Q is also a loyal individual

No matter where he goes, Q is always the ringmaster. At least that's what he believes. While he thought his relationship with Captain Janeway was going to be the same as it was with Picard, Q soon realized that his theatrical shtick wasn't going to cut it with Kathryn.

This intrigued Q to the point he begins to feel an infatuation with Captain Janeway. He even asks her to bear a child with him because, being a Leo, he cheers on his own celebrity. However, he was also one to be humbled on occasion. In the episode "Q2," Q uses his connection with Janeway to help him find ways to control her godson, Q Junior.

7 VIRGO: B'Elanna Torres

B'Elanna turns all the technobabble into something understandable.

A former member of the Marquis, the Klingon-human member of the Voyager crew is a good example of a Virgo. As the Chief Engineer, she needs to convert what she knows into understandable information for all to understand. She's also someone who doesn't cut corners when it comes to maintaining the ship's engines. As a Virgo, she expects perfection from her team.

B'Elanna can be coarse and a fighter when it's necessary. However, she's also kind and supportive when she becomes friends with others. This is especially true with her relationship and marriage to Tom Paris.

6 LIBRA: Chakotay

As First Officer, Chakotay is the libra for the crew.

As Captain Janeway's First Officer, Chakotay's primary goal is to establish equilibrium within the crew. This was especially the case when he first came on board as a member of the Marquis. He needed to stabilize the friction between the Starfleet crew and those who had rebelled against the Federation for months.

He did this by establishing solid relationships with everyone. He melded the strength of the people he knew with those of the original crew. While it didn't always work out, Chakotay's strengths as a Libra paved the way for a successful seven-year voyage.

5 SCORPIO: Seven of Nine

Seven of Nine poses in a corrirdor in Star Trek: Voyager

As seen on Picard, Seven of Nine never got rid of her Scorpio sting. Quietly speaking to an individual one moment, she could strike out with a double set of phasers in the next second. She's both passionate and powerful.

Of course, this wasn't always the case. When she was invited to be part of the Voyager crew she was simply a powerful former member of the Borg. It took several years to establish friendships and, with Chakotay, some romance. Still, when Scorpio took over and her ego got in the way, Seven of Nine wasn't a nice person to be around.

4 SAGITTARIUS: The Doctor

Voyager's Doctor isn't as charming as the British scifi hero.

The Doctor, not to be confused with that other space-faring Doctor in a flying phone box, became a Sagittarius as the years progressed. At first, he was an egotistical hologram. However, once he was given his mobile emitter, his world expanded.

Since he had an enormous storage capacity, the Doctor had the Sagittarian ability to tell stories, even if no one wanted to hear them. He was always on a quest for knowledge and at one point on the voyage, he created a holographic family to see what it was like. It was his way of learning how to be human.

3 CAPRICORN: Kathryn Janeway

Captain Janeway had to have Amazonian strength to climb the highest peaks. She needed to get her ship and crew through the Delta Quadrant. This meant a 70,000 lightyear journey without the availability of resources from Starfleet or the Federation.

Though she seemed cold at first, especially when she brought on the Marquis survivors who entered the area with her, she was shown to be a compassionate and humorous leader. Like other Capricorns, she had a mischievous child inside of her that was willing to loosen up a little. It's why she could handle Q's involvement in her life better than Picard.

2 AQUARIUS: Kes

People tend to forget Kes, though she was on the show before Seven of Nine. Yet, she was an important member of the crew as it began its journey through unknown territory. Out of everyone, she was the most Aquarian.

Kes had the aurora of a free spirit. This was due to her psionic powers and thus, she tended to be the most "human" of everyone. It also led her to be more compassionate with people like Tuvok and Tom Paris, both with traits that could seem harsh by others.

1 PISCES: Reg Barclay

Thanks to the knowledge of others, Reg Barclay became a solid Pisces

Something changed when Lieutenant Reginald "Reg" Barclay left the Enterprise to join Starfleet's efforts to locate Voyager. Like a Pisces, he took all he learned from others we worked with, like Geordi LaForge, and used them to increase his confidence. Though still compassionate, he was able to use that emotion to help find out where Voyager actually was.

Thanks to this, he established communications with Kathryn Janeway's crew via small wormholes. In turn, the Voyager crew felt like they were once again connected to the friends and family they hadn't seen for years.
