Michelle Yeoh's Star Trek: Discovery spinoff is in active development, according to executive producer Heather Kadin.

[Section 31 is] in active development. So that’s obviously a huge priority; Michelle [Yeoh’s] character [Georgiou] is so unique, and you’ve never seen that before. Again, it has to fall under the guise of, ‘is this [show] a unique space we haven’t explored yet?” Kadin said at the TCA winter press tour.

The series will follow Captain Phillipa Georgiou and Section 31, the black ops division of the Federation. Alex Kurtzman will serve as executive producer, with showrunners Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt.

Yeoh's Georgiou debuted in the first episode of Discovery as a mentor to Sonequa Martin Green's Michael Burnham. She was killed off not long after, only to return later in the season via the Mirror Universe.

Yeoh's Star Trek series will debut on CBS All Access.

Streaming on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Shazad Latif as Ash Tyler, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Mary Chieffo as L'Rell, Tig Notaro as Chief Engineer Reno, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou. Season 2 is available in its entirety now, with Season 3 expected to premiere sometime in 2020.
