Star Trek fans looking forward to Paramount+ and Nickelodeon's upcoming children's animated series Star Trek: Prodigy now have their first official look at the show's central antagonists.

During Paramount+'s virtual Television Critics Association (TCA) presentation, Star Trek: Prodigy executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman not only revealed the show's main title sequence (featuring a theme by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino), but also debuted images of its main villains, The Diviner and Drednok, voiced by John Noble and Jimmi Simpson, respectively.

"I am excited that I had the opportunity to write the main theme for Kevin and Dan's latest project, and as always am thrilled to be a part of the Star Trek family," said Giacchino. "I'm especially looking forward to everyone hearing the incredible work of composer Nami Melumad, who will take the reins of scoring the episodes. Not only is she extremely talented, she is a true Star Trek fan."

Star Trek: Prodigy follows "a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered -- a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise -- but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents."

The "six young outcasts" in question are Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), Jankom Pog (Jason Mantzoukas), Murf (Dee Bradley Baker), Zero (Angus Imrie) and Rok-Tahk (Rylee Alazraqui), who hail from the Delta Quadrant. After taking control of an abandoned Starfleet ship, the U.S.S. Protostar, they set a course for the Alpha Quadrant. Moreover, Prodigy will see Star Trek: Voyager's Kate Mulgrew reprise her role as Captain Kathryn Janeway, who appears in the animated series in the form of a hologram.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios' Eye Animation Studios, Star Trek: Prodigy does not currently have an official premiere date, though is expected to arrive on the Paramount+ streaming service this coming fall. The show will then make its way to Nickelodeon at a later date.
