Set phasers to fun! Paramount+ has announced the official premiere dates for both Star Trek: Picard Season 2 and Star Trek: Strange Strange New Worlds Season 1.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is slated to premiere on Paramount+ on Thursday, March 3, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter. Production on Picard Season 3 is currently underway. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is then set make its debut on Thursday, May 5. Like with Picard, new episodes of Strange New Worlds will drop weekly on Thursdays. Additionally, Paramount+ confirmed today that it has already renewed Strange New Worlds for Season 2.

While an official premiere date for Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 has not been revealed at this time, Paramount+ has narrowed down its premiere window to summer 2022, meaning the new season will arrive sometime after Strange New Worlds premieres. Additionally, the adult animated series has been renewed for a fourth season.

In the meantime, the children's animated series Star Trek: Prodigy recently returned for its sixth episode on Paramount+ on Thursday, Jan. 6. The streamer explains, "The remaining four episodes of Season 1's first half will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays, with Episode 10 available to stream on Thursday, Feb. 3. The additional 10-episode-long second half of season one will be available on Paramount+ later in 2022."

It was previously confirmed that Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 would return with a new batch of episodes on Thursday, Feb. 10. The season went on break following the release of its seventh episode, "...But to Connect," on Dec. 30, 2021. As of today, Discovery has officially been renewed for Season 5.

A follow-up to the fan-favorite Star Trek: The Next Generation, Picard rejoins Sir Patrick Stewart's Jean-Luc Picard, who -- despite being retired from Starfleet -- is still haunted by the death of Data (Brent Spiner) in the in the 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis, as well as the destruction of Romulus in the 2009 film Star Trek reboot film.

Strange New Worlds, meanwhile, serves as both a spinoff of Discovery and a prequel to the original Star Trek television series that aired from 1966 to 1969. The series follows Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) during his time as captain of the USS Enterprise, prior to James T. Kirk taking the job. Captain Pike is joined by his first officer, Una Chin-Riley/Number One (Rebecca Romijn), as well as science officer Mr. Spock (Ethan Peck).

"Four years ago, we made a promise to grow Star Trek into something it had never been before, and thanks to the incredibly hard work done by our many talented showrunners, writers, and directors, along with the extraordinary support of CBS Studios and Paramount+, we're keeping our word," said Star Trek franchise executive producer Alex Kurtzman. "Now our current shows are set up for the future as we work to build Trek's next phase of programming for years to come."

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 premieres March 3 on Paramount+. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds follows suit on May 5.
