A new teaser for Star Trek: Picard teases the title hero being haunted by his past.
The teaser, which was released by Trek Central on YouTube, reveals new footage from the upcoming CBS All Access series and teases what fans can expect from the plot. The video features appearances from many of the new characters who will be joining Picard on his mission as well as characters from the classic Star Trek: The Next Generation series, which aired from 1987 until 1994.
Picard takes place eighteen years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, with the eponymous Starfleet officer retired to run his family vineyard in France. Picard is haunted following the death of Data and the destruction of the Romulans. However, a new series of events brings Jean-Luc back into space for a new adventure spanning the cosmos.
Picard is the newest series in CBS' growing slate of Star Trek series. In addition to Picard, the network airs Star Trek: Discovery and is working on the animated series Lower Decks.
Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway. The series is set to premiere on Jan. 23, 2020.
