The official trailer for the series Star Trek: Lower Decks has been released, presenting a rather irreverent look at life in Starfleet. The series, created by Mike McMahan, focuses on four ensigns who work on the lower decks of the U.S.S. Cerritos.

McMahan had previously worked on Rick and Morty and Hulu's Solar Opposites, and the same sense of humor is on display here. The ensigns face several problems including taking care of their wounded crewmates, the ship falling apart, and walking on each other in the nude. Eagle-eyed Star Trek fans will notice familiar races such as the Borg appearing in the trailer.
