Star Trek Fleet Command Game Announced With First Trailer

This month, fans will get the chance to immerse themselves in the Star Trek universe by commanding their own starship and coordinating with other players online in the mobile massive multiplayer strategy game Star Trek Fleet Command.

The upcoming mobile game is a blend of RPG progression and real-time strategy as players develop new technologies  and upgrade custom starships and officers as they vie for control of the galaxy between the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Star Empire. Developer Scopely has released a debut trailer for the game showing a trio of Federation starships facing a Klingon armada with explosive results.

The game is based on the cinematic Kelvin timeline introduced by filmmaker JJ Abrams with 2009's Star Trek before continuing in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness and 2016's Star Trek Beyond. Players will have the opportunity to interact with classic Star Trek characters including Captain Kirk, Spock, and Uhura from this timeline.

Scopely is developing the title with CBS Interactive with the developer having previously created the mobile game The Walking Dead: Road to Survival.
