WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Trek: Discovery's Season 3 finale, "That Hope Is You, Part 2", now streaming on CBS All Access.

Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery shook up the status quo yet again, with the Federation reparing itself after the Burn and Michael Burnham assuming the captain's chair aboard the U.S.S. Discovery. But perhaps the biggest shake-up was the departure of Saru.

At the end of "That Hope Is You, Part 2," Saru departed with his fellow Kelpien Su'Kal for Kaminar. Star Trek: Discovery showrunner Michelle Paradise revealed that audiences will be seeing more of Saru in Season 4.

"Doug Jones is not going anywhere. Saru will be back, a hundred percent in season four. So rest easy, sleep well. We're not letting Doug go anywhere. We're holding onto him," Paradise told ComicBook.com during a phone interview.

In "That Hope Is You, Part 2, Saru was able to confront Su'Kal after the latter Kelpien learned that he was responsible for "The Burn," which is the cataclysmic event that ripped through the galaxy and led to Starfleet's dissolution. Su'Kal was genetically engineered as a child to render Dilithium inert with his screams, which are triggered in times of emotional stress.

Streaming on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, David Ajala as Cleveland "Book" Booker, Blu del Barrio as Adira, Ian Alexander as Gray, Tig Notaro as Chief Engineer Reno and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou. Seasons 1-3 are currently available to stream on CBS All Access.
