If you're living in the United States, then you've been watching Star Trek: Discovery on the Paramount's digital streaming service CBS All Access. If you've been living in Canada, then you watched the cosmic adventures of Michael Burnham on the Space Channel. And if you are anywhere else in the world, then you've been able to watch the series on Netflix. But for Star Trek completists, nothing will ever compare to holding the real deal in their hands, of owning the actual DVD box set to put alongside the rest of their extensive Star Trek collection.

It might have taken some time, but we finally know when the latest Star Trek series will receive a home release -- both in a limited edition capacity as well as a general release. The good news is that the series will be released in a collectible SteelBook edition at Best Buy in the U.S. and Canada. A select few retail stores will also sell the limited edition SteelBook in various select territories that haven't been disclosed at this time.

However, for the rest of the world, the series will not be released in the SteelBook format, but in a regular DVD boxed set. In North America, Season 1 of Star Trek: Dicovery will be released on November 13. Internationally, the release dates will vary: U.K. and Scandinavia will get the series on Nov. 19; Benelux, Brazil, Spain and Germany will get it a week later on November 21-22; Australia on Nov. 28; and Italy and France, Dec 4.

The Season 1 collection contains all 15 episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, as well as bonus materials that includes deleted and extended scenes, making of featurettes, as well as interviews with the cast.

Star Trek: Discovery is the first in Paramount and CBS All Access' push to bring Star Trek to the televised medium in a year-round capacity. It was recently announced that Sir Patrick Stewart would soon star in a new series that brings the actor back to the iconic role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, while other spin-offs are currently being discussed.

Returning in 2019 on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, Mary Chieffo and Anson Mount. The series may only be returning in 2019, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see new material. CBS All Access will soon feature Star Trek: Short Treks, a four-part monthly series of 10-15 mini episodes showcasing different characters.
