One of Star Trek: Discovery's newest cast members recently suffered a wardrobe malfunction of the feline variety.

David Ajala was a guest on The Ready Room, which serves as the official aftershow for Star Trek: Discovery. During the latest episode, Ajala told host Wil Wheaton about an encounter with Grudge the cat.

"We're on set... we're doing this scene. I remember Grudge the Cat in this scene... I'm doing this scene with Sonequa (Martin-Green) and as I'm holding Grudge, in the middle of the scene she claws me and shreds my costume!" Ajala recalled with a laugh. "I didn't know she had claws like that. But since then going forward we've been good as gold."

Grudge is the companion of Ajala's smuggler, Book, and is portrayed by Maine Coon brothers Leeu and Durban. The Star Trek Universe is no stranger to feline companions, as Star Trek: The Next Generation featured the android Data having a pet cat named Spot.
